Today is the end of an era in my life. My last biological parent will be laid to rest. As a child, I always knew that I was adopted. I was blessed with amazing parents and an excellent home life that my biological mother was incapable of providing. Through DNA Sites, I found out who she was and that she had died when I was a teenager. I was an only child for her. No one knew who my father was but they knew my mother was a sweetheart and that she was mentally about 7 years old.... She and several of my Aunts and Uncles were or are developmentally disabled. Coincidentally, I have spent much of my life working with people who have developmental disabilities. After that, I wondered what about my biological father? Did he have kids? Do I have half siblings? The answer was yes he had at least 6 kids. I have been able to contact 4 of my 5 siblings. What an amazing blessing! I contacted and reached out to my biological father on several occasions but he only denied me. After a half sibling took the DNA test to confirm things, my father still wanted nothing to do with me even though he had met a daughter that he didn’t know about supposedly after he knew about me. That hurt badly. I found out that my father was sick and I made arrangements to see him in Alabama only to find out I wasn’t welcome. ( he had posted on Facebook not DM asking when I was going to come see him and calling me son while saying that I was welcome) Long story short, he died without meeting me. I am the only of his known children that he never met. I don’t know how I feel about that but now he is being buried today and I pray for all of his loved ones, my aunts, my siblings. I pray for peace and hope that one day we can meet up just to know each other. See more
As the season changes, I remember just how blessed I have been to come through some rough roads and get by with a little help from my friends. I’m incredibly blessed to have wonderful siblings that I have discovered. Angela M Weeks-Abernathy, Daniel Abernathy, Michelle McClellan, Michael Abernathy, and Grady Abernathy

Strife and discontent are a byproduct of a sinful and broken world. There will always be seasons of discord even within the closest of families.

Forgiveness is not easy. Counting transgressions and holding grudges is easy as all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. As God forgives us, we should forgive others.

Have a blessed weekend everyone! God is great all the time! Rest assured that he who believes in Jesus Christ as his savior from sin shall be saved. Even though we all have sinned and fallen short, He paid the wages of our sin which is death. What a blessed assurance that because of His sacrifice we can be assured of eternal life in heaven!

Stormy morning here in Missouri. Rain always seems to remind me of baptism. In that sacred sacrament, the wages of our sins are washed away. We become one with Christ and we experience the grace of the cross. He died so that we may live! He served our death penalty. What do we do to deserve such grace? Nothing! Not works, no matter what we may do we cannot earn our way. Instead, simple faith is all that is required. Acknowledge Jesus as your savior from sin and you will be as...sured of eternal life! So why not live a hate filled unforgiving life? It’s completely complicated and yet very simple. God gave us commandments and the greatest one is to love one another. What would you do for a man that gives you the keys to a new sports car? Probably spend a life of gratitude and thankfulness for that man right?? How much more then, shall we live a life of gratitude for Jesus who has given the greatest gift of all! May His grace wash away your sins today and may each of you be reminded of the love He has for you. See more
It was a wonderful blessed day today. Had a doctor’s appointment to meet a new doctor and get back on track with my weight loss. Took my dog for a few walks. Got a Kindle for super cheap that I will use for Ubering and I spent time with my close friend’s minis! Swam like a fish and got pruny God is good all the time! Praying for my biological father he needs prayers of healing.
