Sending big thanks and love to our Campus and Urban Missionary Travis as he finishes his final week in ministry partnership with us in a formal staff roll (but he will continue to be a part of our community). For four years he’s been wearing lots of hats, trailblazing in our college ministry, neighborhood connections, and coffeehouse @cravestl (and navigating a pandemic). His love for people and sharing Christ’s love is contagious. We will continue on in our innovative a...pproaches to teaching students, neighbors and Crave customers.using lessons learned from Travis’ work to guide our next steps! We love you Travis and send you with great purpose to @lhssstl ! #lovedsent #reliantstl #cravestl

As a people who live and are led by two words Loved + Sent one of the hardest parts of our mission is sending those who we love deeply. This weekend our leadership, along with community group members, prayed over Aidan and Naomi Moon as they leave for vicarage (pastoral internship) over the next year. Many times we are sent members for a season while they are in school, in an internship, beginning a new job or in a place of transition in young adulthood. Our goal is tha...t you might be known and experience Christ’s love in meaningful community whether you are with us for a couple of months or multiple decades. Naomi and Aidan, you are a part of our family and we send you with great purpose! #lovedsent #reliantstl #cmstl

Starting this Wednesday with a centering prayer remembering Sunday’s message as we consider building bridges and being a diverse (but one) family if Christ. How? 1. Be honest with our own sin ... 2. Stay curious about others, ask questions, engage in dialogue 3. Put the best construction on what others say and do #reliantstl #lovedsent #actsalliance

Join us for worship tomorrow at 10:30am (in person or through our livestream) as Pastor Paul finishes off our series #justlikejesus_21 expanding on the Micah 6:8 verse introduced last week. Our #21dayjusticechallenge also continues this final week. As we finish out our series, we also invite you to join us on Sunday, February 7 for a special Mission Sunday Prayer Service and neighborhood prayer walk. Whether you can join us in person, or online, we will have guides available. We prayerfully consider how God is calling our church, our coffeehouse, and our members into the our neighborhoods to be ambassadors of reconciliation and shalom. #lovedsent #reliantstl #multisitechurch

A Reliant Reads Friday post from community member Bailey. Hinds Feet on High Places by Hannah Hurnard This is the story of a young woman named Much Afraid, and her journey to the High Places guided by the Shepherd. As I’ve followed Much Afraid through her journey ,I’ve resonated with her on many occasions. However, the most striking part of her journey so far has been the start of her trek into the mountains. I was reminded that our pain can often lead to strength and gr...owth through the work of our Shepherd. Over the past year I have seen my community and my church lean into the hard places, and I am especially joyful to see our church explore racial justice in these few weeks. It is a hard thing to do, and for me personally, had led to deep sorrow. My prayer is that as we experience sorrow for our brothers and sisters in Christ, it will continue to lead to more growth and strength for our church community. I pray that we will be leaders for racial justice in STL, and that we will always be open to learn from those who are different from us. I am so thankful that God is faithful, though sorrow and suffering may be our companions. Share with #reliantreads by sending us a DM of a book, poem, article or podcast you have been reading or listening to with and a short reflection. #reliantstl #lovedsent

Today we pray for healthcare and social services workers in our midst. Give them endurance and encouragement as the pandemic continues. We pray that they would bring compassion and care to their patients of all races, statuses, and countries of origin. We pray that they would advocate boldly for equal access to care. We pray that they would be light in dark places, bringing your hope and healing in fear and pain. #lovedsent #reliantstl #justlikejesus_21 #21dayjusticechallenge #vocationalprayers

Monday reminders to be image bearers of justice, mercy, and faithfulness into our workplaces, schools, and homes this week. May we turn our hearts from the laws of this world; the desire to get ahead, to look better, or to put our needs and comfort first. Let us sit in reconciliation, remembering that our lives we traded for something much more costly than ourselves and that is the model of mercy we follow. For Relaint members following the #21dayjusticechallenge and Daily ...pattern podcast, please note the we are a week off at our campus. You can skip ahead to week three to align themes. #lovedsent #reliantstl #justlikejesus_21 #multisitechurch

What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.... May our lives be reconciled to Christ, that we become ambassadors of His reconciliation to others. #lovedsent #justlikejesus_21 #reliantstl #21dayjusticechallenge #multisitechurch

We regret to announce that due to rising COVID infection rates and a new statement from SLU to limit off campus gatherings for students, we will be cancelling our Flannel Friday event this week. With that said we want to extend an invitation to students to worship with us this Sunday at 10:30a before they leave for the semester. At worship students can pick up a care package to take with them on the break and we will pray for all students as the semester draws to an end of ...in person classes. For those who were planning on attending and had their flannel shirts ready to show off, we still want to see them! Take a picture of yourself or family in your flannels and send them to our DM’s or PM’s on Instagram or Facebook. We will create a pic collage of everyone and post it this weekend. Thanks to those willing to serve and planning to attend. We pray for an end to this pandemic, health and safety over the Thanksgiving and Christmas break! #lovedsent #collegeministry #flannelfriday #flannelseason
