Over the years I've celebrated with many friends as they have walked through pregnancy and welcomed new babies into their arms and their lives, but there is something extra special about celebrating with the ones who have waited and longed for years. There's something both joyful and reverent in the glow of that longing fulfilled and of a body literally expanding with hope. It feels like a privilege to witness and capture.

Spring feels like a time of anticipation. Hints of green creep across the grass. Tiny leaves begin to unfurl. Flower buds perch on the ends of bare branches. Everything feels on the cusp of a new season. And then suddenly the grass is green and the trees are blossoming and life is bursting forth all over. Last week felt like that bursting forth, with trees blossoming in yards and parks and along roadways. I love it! Last night I had my first session since my daughter was born and wow...what a beautiful way to jump back into this work of documenting your stories and love! The apple trees were in full bloom, wrapping us in cascades of blossoms and the scent of spring, as we celebrated the upcoming birth of a long awaited baby. It was such a joy to photograph the quiet connection and anticipation this sweet couple shared as they await the birth of their baby.
