Saturday was a bittersweet moment in many ways. Almost a year ago a couple came to me to get a bid on some cabinets for her childhood home they had inherited and were in the process of remodeling. For her it was the fulfillment of a long awaited dream, for him it was a labor of love for her. The work was slow due to a lot of unforseen challenges but they continued moving ahead replacing the old with the new. She had very specific ideas how she wanted everything and needed no ...suggestions from me about her cabinetry which made my job easier. Unfortunately, during the last part of March of this year, while sitting in the house she loved, she nodded off into a short nap from which she would never wake. Folks wondered what might become of the house and the realization of that dream after the dreamer departed this world. For the one who was left it was hard to go on, surrounded by the house and all its memories of her. But he has kept his promise to her and continues to push forward making her dream a reality. Saturday we finished her cabinets. The best payment I could have received was "I think she would have liked them, they turned out wonderful" as we were packing up our stuff to leave. Folks, cherish the ones around you for life is short. Take no one for granted and assume they will be there tomorrow for the Lord my have other plans. That is all, good day. See more

Another completed job! Kevin made 11 tables for an elementary school in the area.

One of Kevin's recent cabinet jobs. Cabinets are cherry. If I remember correctly, the peninsula cabinet top is walnut (if I'm wrong, I'm sure Kevin will correct me in the comments). Upper cabinets are going to have glass installed. Lots of pull-outs, including one that pulls out and up for their stand mixer! Absolutely LOVE this one!

Recently we were asked to build a bookcase door to a hidden room, which we've always wanted to do for someone. Do you have any ideas of interesting or challenging projects you've always wanted to see done?

Kevin has been super busy making cabinets for a co-worker and rewiring, rearranging, and adding some heat to our garage/workshop. He did sneak in a small job making a desk for a client. They wanted it very basic, white with a black top. Looks great, doesn't it? He's getting ready to start his next cabinet job, and already has a couple jobs lined up after that. 2019 is off to a busy start, but that's the way we like it!
