Wood Heights Fire will be doing hydrant and draft training May 19th at 0900. Anyone wanting to join feel free to attend. We will meet at the station then go to Elkhorn School. This will apply as ISO credit for auto aid training. Let me know if you will be attending and bringing a truck.

Ray County Ambulance District is opening enrollment for an EMT-B class starting mid-March on Mon & Thu evenings from 6-10 pm. Cost for class is $1000.00, you must have a high school diploma and be able to read and write the English language. Every Fire Department in the County gets 1 Scholarship. We must have 15 paying Students for the class to make. An enrollment form along with fifty dollar ($50.00) earnest deposit will be required to be placed on the list. Scholarship s...tudents must have an Enrollment form and a letter of approval by the department chief to be placed on the list. NO EXCEPTIONS. Enrollment forma are available at the Ray County Ambulance District office located at the intersection of 10 hwy and Business 10 hwy on the west side of Richmond. Enrollment form and deposit fees are due by March 2nd. If the class does not make due to low enrollment your $50.00 fee will be refunded to you however if the class makes your $50.00 will be applied to the cost of the course. Ray County Ambulance District is hosting an EMT Refresher March 1st, 2nd, 3rd 4th. 18:00 - 22:00 on the 1st and 2nd. 08:00-17:00 3rd & 4th . At the Training Center at RCAD. Cost for this class is $150.00 per student. If you work for an agency that operates in Ray County the cost is $50.00. Contact Sam Moppin at 816-470-3030 for further info or to sign up. Wood Heights Fire will be hosting a basic firefighter class. The class will start in Feb. If you are interested in attending, let me know how many and email me the names. This post is for all fire chiefs in Ray County. I'm looking at interest in hosting a chiefs meeting in January at Wood Heights Fire. I would like to sit down and get training and some topics discussed for 2018. What day of the week in the evening works best for you guys. Looking to have the meeting January 2018. It is with great sadness that I post this today. Mick Hicks, a pillar in the Fire & EMS community in and around KC passed away today. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family in this difficult time. RIP Chief, you will be missed.
