Long and hopefully helpful post. Because so many don't have subscription access to the Wall Street Journal, so I'm going to copy and paste (with link to the piece)here a very helpful recent article they posted. (I will also post on my practice FB page and have sent a pdf of this out to my patients.) "What to Put in a Covid-19 Emergency Home-Care Kit"...Continue reading

You can make your own disinfectant with *any* kind of bleach; you *do* not need Clorox. If you don't have a spray bottle, mixing and keeping in a bowl (keep covered) and soaking a cleaning cloth will work. Try to wash (you only need soap; it doesn't need to be anti-bacterial) your hands once per waking hour (and always after using a restroom); we touch our faces thousands of times a day and surfaces even more. Wash up past your wrists and while washing, make a cup with your p...alm in one hand and then a kind of claw with the other. Swirl/swish your fingernails in the clawed hand in the cupped palm of the other hand. Switch and repeat. Keep your fingernails trimmed as short as you can tolerate. The tiny space between the finger and fingernails is a nutritious host for bacteria and viruses. If you have aloe vera gel and 60% alcohol (minimum percentage per the CDC, link in comments; the higher the alcohol content, the better, but make do with what you can), you can make your own hand sanitizer to carry with you on the essentials-only outings you must make. (I'll post a link in the comments.) Key to effectively using hand sanitizer is the alcohol content, using enough to saturate the hand (a nickle size dollop should do), the friction level, and rubbing until completely dry. https://www.dhhs.nh.gov/dphs/holu/documents/hom-sani.pdf

Hello, All. The second week of March, I moved all sessions to teletherapy. I use doxy.me and have a BAA certification. A BAA simply recognizes that the platform we're using only transmits information (it is only a conduit), no data is stored (and, thus, cannot be accessed by the platform or those who service it) when we meet; therefore, confidentiality is far more certain than devices (like Skype). ... Our sessions are private and anything you share is still kept safe with me through our virtual meeting. I am taking new clients; we will meet virtually until community and national consensus is reached that meeting in person feels and is safe and healthy for all.
