We had the privilege of meeting and lodging in the same place with Megan, the only paracyclist to finish the 200+ mile course. She is such an accomplished athlete with an amazing personality and sense of humor. We are humbled by her accomplishments and thankful for the meeting.

This bike was ditched behind the bike shop by a guy looked to be mid 20’s short brown hair and a grey shirt. While he ditched this bike he stole a repair bike, which we got back after finding him riding it down Glenstone, he ran away when confronted. It’s a good possibility that this bmx bike is also stolen but if it’s not and he wants it back send him our way. #biketheivessuck

Hello Gravel Family, its been a while. We've missed you. We have been admittedly quiet over the last few months, working hard behind the scenes. As a refresher,... in June 2020 we committed to a name change in order to create an identity in line with who and what this race stands for: a place where everyone is and should feel welcome. Welcome to UNBOUND Gravel. Garmin UNBOUND Gravel is about finding your own personal freedom in the vastness of the Flint Hills. On race day we take to Commercial Street, confined by the barricades that shape the start line. And then to the sound of a horn, we’re released to traverse the beautiful, unforgiving, hilly prairie where, across those miles, we each learn something about ourselves. Unbound represents the free-range cattle, wild mustangs and native bison in the prairie of the Flint Hills, who move freely and live wild. It’s synonymous with our participants who experience a sense of freedom on the gravel roads outside of Emporia, in those moments unbound from anything else. Just riders and the tire-shredding, sun-baking, breathtaking Flint Hills gravel. It’s about self-discovery. We will come undone, reinvigorated, and undone again each time we’re out on those hills. Thank you to all of our partners, fellow cyclists, media personnel, and the Emporia community who sat through endless brainstorms and meetings the past few months to help us create an identity in line with who and what this race stands for: a place where everyone is and should feel welcome. We’re beyond excited for you all to experience UNBOUND Gravel next year!
