UPCOMING QUARRY HEIGHTS FALL 2017 CLASS: Have a novel that's been gathering digital dust? Want to get started on that long planned-out short story? Tackle it all in our Fall 2017 Fiction Workshop and get your writing back on track. Classes begin Thursday, August 24 and run until Thursday, October 12, meeting every Thursday evening from 7:00-9:00pm at the Columbia Independent School here in town. TWO NEW WORKSHOPS STARTING SOON! Details below: 5-Week Novel-Writing Workshop Join us for a 5-week, June 2016 novel-writing workshop. The class will meet every Tuesday for the month of June (beginning on May 31 and ending on June 28) from 7-9pm. The class will be limited to 5 participants. Each participant will submit up to 100 pages of a completed novel or a novel-in-progress to be workshopped during the class. As well, we'll do some craft lessons on novel writing logistics,... discuss how to find an agent and how to write a query letter, and discuss publishing. Instructor: Gordon Sauer Cost: $275 (yes, it's a shorter workshop than the 8-week workshops and still costs the same, but you'll get to have twice the material workshopped [100 pages of your novel] in that condensed timeframe) AND 6-Week Poetry Workshop Quarry Heights is proud to introduce its first ever poetry workshop. The spring 2016 workshop will be six weeks long, running from April 28 - June 2. Classes will meet every Thursday from 7-9pm. The class will be limited to 8 participants. The class is pending room availability at the moment, though I'm still taking names for registration. Happy to announce that QHWW will be partnering with Yoga Sol's Soljourn organization to bring you a writing and yoga retreat in March 2016! We are exploring either Nicaragua or Costa Rica as options. Details to come! But in the meantime, start dreaming...!
