Once upon a time, I made friends online during a pandemic with another hairstylist on the pulpriot Facebook artists page. She was asking for empty pulp boxes for a project, I happen to have collected allot of them and had extra. I sent her a 5lb box of empty boxes and we became friends. Turns out we have a recidulous amount in common, also she’s a real live mermaid.like wtf how cool is that?? .... We went down to Florida earlier this year to visit GMA, and the mermaid invited us over to hang and do a photoshoot. Now mind you, I’d only talked with her online, so I had no idea what we were getting into, but I took the husband as bodyguard and off we went. . I. Was. Not. Prepared. . Screened in pool, rows and rows of props to sink in it, scaffolding full of underwater photo equipment, a husband that takes all the pics, a closet full of outfits and wigs.. After eating and chatting to get to know each other for about an hour, we went straight to the bathroom to commence getting our faces put on and show on the road (in the water?) . I was underwater until almost 3AM . She tried to teach and prepare me for how to point my toes, look pretty while underwater, stay still for pictures without letting bubbles out, and its HARD! I had the absolute pleasure of getting to try on her mermaid tail and get to swim about in the pool with my husband, who also got to put on a tail! I got to play with silks underwater, tell a story of a human turning into a sea creature, and this picture, the finale. Back when I had sent her all those boxes, she’d had this idea for a storm trooper helmet covered in pulp boxes in mind, F*$# Covid, welcome to the resistance!!! So for me to get to wear it in a shoot in her pool, what a full circle that made!! . Thanks to @edensirene & @landseaairphotography for hosting us and letting us play! You guys are literally the coolest, nicest people I’ve ever met online and you’re killing it in the game. . you forever for letting strangers come to your house and play in your tails and wigs!!! From box color red, to chocolate brown with some fun copper/gold balayage. . I've only known this gem for going on 8 years. She is one of the humans that has been there to hold me up when life gets hard. With advice or a shot when I'm going off the deep end. Food and snuggs when I am in need of some comfort. .... She showed up in my chair as a color correction, tried to do her own hair and knew it wasn't right, but she's color blind sooooo... . I was having one of those days, the kind were a boy was giving me drama and I was crying in the backroom on the dryer. Literally wiped the tears from my eyes as I went out to greet her and start fixing the mess she'd created. . 5 hours later and we'd bonded in a way only traumatized women that get each other can. . She and her family have been a huge part in my life ever since! From new jobs to new puppies, new states and marriages, hardships and celebrations. . I call her my other mother, and I love her dearly. This women has saved my life in a way that I didn't know I needed saving and has taught me to love unconditionally. . I will forever be grateful that you ended up in my life!! See more

Missing all my bass babes this weekend since we should’ve been head banging together for dance fest.
