While working along North Highway 65, the water line was hit about 10:45 am. Eric will be heading out to repair. Yes, this will cause the water to have air and stir up the naturally occurring sediment in the line. Tag your neighbors or list them in the comments. Thank you!

Update: Water is back on for the line North of Marshall (along Wildcat & Bluebird Trail). No boiling required. Flushing will happen so your water may be stirred up a bit but should calm back down in a couple of days.

Update: A repair, North of Marshall (See 2nd picture in comments), around Machholz's place on Wildcat caused the water system to be shut off for a short time today. Eric will flush the line for a couple of days and that will affect the water. If possible, don't wash your finest for a few days, and be sure to "flush" your own lines if you notice the extra color or sediment. This does not require boiling.

Your bill this month is in a white plain-looking envelope! They went to the Post Office today and will be delivered after the 1st this month. I am sorry for their delay. If you want to know your total, just call the office, 660-886-7079, and press 0 to talk to Denise. If I am not available, leave a message and I will respond as quickly as I am able. If you are interested in signing up for Autopay which happens on the 15th of the month, call the office before the 12th, and we will make that happen. You will still get a bill to show you the amount deducted from your checking or savings account.

If you are in Miami, north of the Miami tower or had water issues today north of Marshall today, you will need to BOIL your water for a few days. I'll post when we are off the BOIL order. If you are not NORTH of Marshall, you do not need to change your water use. ALSO...PLEASE limit your water use tonight. Don't run the washing machine, dishwasher, or water your lawn. This will help your water system (and your neighbors) get back to 'normal.' One more PLEASE... tag your neighbors in the comments to spread this news. I will be sending out a RAVE announcement as well stating the same information. If you aren't on Saline County RAVE Alerts, I'll create another post on how to sign up for that.

In 2006, the District installed Radio Read Meters. This was a great feature as it allowed someone to drive past your house and collect the information on how much water you used. Previously, customers had to monthly go out to their meter pit, remove the lid, write down the reading, calculate the use, and then submit it with their payment. Wonders of wonders, this was such a blessing. Fast forward to 2020 and yes, the batteries for those meters are starting to die. They ...were guaranteed 10 years with the possibility of 20 years. But, it is 2020. You may see the District white Ford truck with the below license plate in your neighborhood or driveway. Eric is just replacing the transmitters so he will be able to once again, just drive past your house instead of getting out to get the reading. If you do have questions, always call the office, 660-886-7079, and press 0 or go chat with him. By the way, do you know where your water meter lid is located?

FREE. Does anyone need 7-8 used, beige, similar-looking, rolling office chairs? The District used these chairs for the Board meetings for many years but these are still in good condition. Leave a comment if you are interested in them.

Pay your bill by TOMORROW at noon (Tuesday, August 24) to avoid paying $5 plus 5%. Call Denise at 660-886-7079 and press 0 if you want to use your debit or credit card. Please be patient as the phone may be busy. There is a $3 processing fee on each $100 in addition to the water bill total; You would, however, save the $5 late fee charge, so you are up $2. = ) ... You are welcome to pay over the amount of your bill and have a credit. Several customers purchase $100 at a time on the debit/credit card, as this may save that processing fee each time. Each customer is different, so that may or may not work for your account.
