Did you know a goat can be a vessel for financial freedom for a family living in extreme poverty? It can ensure that they will know the dignity of self-reliance, be able to put food on the table, and earn income for education and healthcare for their family. Pictured here is Rehena who has just received two goats. The cost of a goat in Bangladesh is around $40! Check out the link below to make a donation to support an individual like Rehena. https://bit.ly/3o6HC9n

Is health care a necessity? We believe Royton's story shows exactly why. When a field worker from our team in Bangladesh visited Royton, they discovered she had been suffering from asthma, back pain, and physical weakness for some years. In early October 2018, she was provided with a health card by our field worker. She went to one of our outreach centers to visit the paramedic doctor and was provided medicines that improved her health immediately. To learn more about PSDI go to: https://bit.ly/2SIizhj

Muslims around the world are celebrating Eid al-Fitr today, also called the "Festival of Breaking the Fast". It is a religious holiday that marks the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan. Eid Mubarak to our Muslim friends.

As of January 14, 2021, a total of 524,020 cases of COVID have been reported in Bangladesh by the International Health Organization with 7,819 deaths. In a country of over 160 million people, these numbers seem low. We have created a guide to help you understand why these numbers don't tell the whole story and how you can help. The services we provide are critical to the people we serve, especially now. Click here to view the blog: psdintl.org/blog-1

STORY OF HOPE: Sundor and Mohammad reside with their children in the Kishoregonj district of Bangladesh. Because of COVID-19, the sons and father are out of work and have been unable to support themselves. Through the help of the local Nikli IDP office, our caseworkers were able to identify the need and provide emergency food support. With the ongoing severity of COVID-19, this family and many others are continuing to face food shortages and we want to continue providing hope for these families. We care and have the deepest respect for the world’s poorest. All humans are deserving of dignity and respect. Our team is actively working to make sure that the people we serve are provided with basic needs and the ability to permanently escape from poverty and become self-sufficient. We are eradicating poverty one family at a time. This is no easy task and we have a list of values that help drive that mission. Throughout the next few weeks, we will continue focusing on those values and how we are currently addressing the needs. To learn more about us go directly to psdintl.org/about-us
