In his latest and final exhibition at @clevecarneymuseumofart, Tony Fitzpatrick (@tonyfitzpatrick9) told @hyperallergic, I think it’s time for people who look like me to get out of the way and create some institutional wall space for people who’ve not had a light shined on them. Jess T. Dugan’s interview with Amy Reidel for Srange Fire Collective touches on her personal history and the representation of motherhood in art. Pictured is her work From the Mombies Series (Blue Dash) photographed during our Stretch Marks exhibition last year. The mother and child not only hold each other, but seem to almost melt into one another as a single body against the world. The full interview: http://www.strangefirecollective.com/qa-amy-reidel

Due to the recent resurgence of COVID cases in the St. Louis metropolitan area, and in accordance with government recommendations and mandates, all Barrett Barrera Projects locations will be closed to the public until further notice. The well-being and safety of our guests, staff and community is of the utmost importance to us and we have been so appreciative of the support we have received since reopening in July. In an abundance of caution, and to ensure that we are able to provide a safe and comfortable environment for all, we have determined that it is best to close our doors for the time being. We look forward to announcing the news of our reopening! Stay tuned!
