Prohibition Thursday at Thaxton Speakeasy 11.11.2020

Oh how we miss the days when we were open on Thursdays, the drinks were flowing, the guests were swinging, and we showcased the most amazing local talent that Saint Louis has to offer: Miss Jubilee & The Yas Yas Boys, Annie and the Fur Trappers, Sweetie & The Toothaches, The Gaslight Squares, Tommy Halloran. Until the day that we can return to that, we will cherish the sweet, sweet memories. Our hearts are heavy without you.

SUPER excited to Annie and the Fur Trappers down tonight for a live stream from the mezzanine! Tune in to see what's new and coming down the pipeline at The Thaxton!

While we are so excited to see and serve our guests at The Thaxton and Thaxton Speakeasy again, we are going to err on the conservative side and postpone openin...g at this time. A speakeasy being conservative? What?! It seems counterintuitive, as speakeasies are widely known as the renegades and rule breakers. Tis true, in most cases. However, under the current climate, we are putting priority on social responsibility over the party. We hope to create a safe, laid back, lounge environment for our guests to enjoy and feel comfortable in. In addition, we are always looking at ways to creatively heighten the Speakeasy experience within The Thaxton. During our delay in opening, we are working out systems to implement the following: Establishing guidelines and signage for shared spaces Temperature checks, masks, and gloves for all staff Guidelines for disinfecting and sanitation Evaluating our floor plans in order to help maintain 6' distancing Evaluating flow within the space to maintain social distancing Moving towards a reservation system, with table service vs. standing bar service Expanding seating options into areas of The Thaxton previously reserved for private events Developing disposable and/or touch less menu and pay options Running through our systems with small test groups to streamline our processes We will continue to keep you updated as we strive to adapt, evolve, and assess. Thank you for your patience and your continued support! Stay tuned and stay healthy! Cheers!
