Principia School

Upper School freshmen recently participated in "The Principia Hunger Games," a fierce (and friendly) competition with deep connections to their English coursework. Students have been analyzing ideas and characters from "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes" and discussing related themes of morality, societal systems, and self-governance. Prior to the event, students created character profiles for the caste system for their version of "The Hunger Games," complete with tributes, mentors, and Capitol citizens. The tribute caste played the first round until only one remained. Then the caste systems competed in a capture the flag game. The event concluded with dinner and "Catching Fire," the second movie based on The Hunger Games trilogy. #principiaschool
