Pride Amusements 17.11.2020

Some of the fair boards and committees I work with have asked about what they can do to keep us from having to relive the nightmare we went through last year trying to get our workers here. Here's one way you can help. Sign this petition. Talk to our lawmakers! Some of you have a lot more influence than you know. Let them know that the outdoor amusement industry relies on the h2b program to stay in business. We arent just in business for ourselves, either. Nearly every week we are giving back to community clubs, county fairs, churches, scholarship funds, and cultural programs. It just takes a moment to sign this petition and share the link, and this is how you can start helping us.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT!!! Parents and adults, I beg you to please speak to your children about amusement ride safety. Please encourage them to take the time to see what each ride does before they get on it. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE ENCOURAGE THEM TO READ ALL POSTED SIGNAGE PRIOR TO GETTING ON A RIDE. Many rides at carnivals and amusement parks are made for thrills! This means that the rides may be made to jerk, move suddenly, or spin, and thus it's designed for the rid...er to "hang on tight"! This week I would like to highlight a ride that is a true THRILL SEEKER.....the Zipper! This ride will definitely send you on some spins! We maintain signage on each car of the Zipper that alerts the rider as they get into the car and again when the door is shut. Yet, we continue to overhear teenagers and preteens saying they didn't know what to expect and weren't hanging on. This puts them in danger of getting hurt, as well as it puts the other person in the car in danger of getting hurt. Again, please read all signage, and please encourage your children to read all the signage, prior to getting on a ride you with which you/they aren't familiar.

In honor of our friends, Lisa Moore, Lucas Moore, Stephanie Marie, and Bella, we had the honor of bidding on the goat of a little 10 year-old girl in Kansas who has battled brain cancer for 9 years (she was giving some of the proceeds to St Jude's). I can't even begin to imagine what these families go through. I know St Jude's has been a life saver to many! <3 Hugs to all of you. You're in my thoughts. <3 (pictured below is Lucas and Bella)
