Looking ahead to 2021, we've never started a year with so many weddings on the books! We're here and ready with all the vintage pretties and feel so, so thankful...especially after this year! That said, for next year, we will only be taking a limited number of events. This is to control our workload and allow for select weekends with our families. We still hope to work with everyone that reaches out, but know it will be impossible to meet the needs of everyone given how ...our schedule is currently looking! !!!FRIDAY INTRODUCTION!!! I'm realizing I've never actually done one of these...and well, it's Friday and we just got back from a full day of deliveries, so I figured, what the heck?!! It's time to send a HELLO out into the world! I'm Courtney! I'm the face of PLT and the person you'll work with from start to finish when renting something for your special day! I'm a mama to three sweet & crazy boys and wife to an amazing, entrepreneurial husband! I was in advertising for ...10 years (while running this biz for four of those!) and am now the full-time boss babe to PLT! Prior to starting PLT, I would pick and sell vintage at antique shops in the area! After having my own shabby chic inspired wedding in 2013, I sold a lot of what I used, but kept a large collection that I refused to part with, but didn't have a purpose for. A year and half later, PLT was born in the summer of 2015 in a car ride to St. Louis and a random "what do you think about this idea" post on FB. Not even 10-minutes after sharing the idea with the hubs and getting the "go for it" remark, a godaddy search had us domain (prettyweddingrentals.com), the third garage was cleared out for a little "shop" and the journey to develop my own vintage rental company began! When you walk into the warehouse you will have no doubt that I love vintage! The hunt of finding the pretties keeps me going back for more and more! Let's just say, the pickin' never ends, sorry hubs! But most of all, I truly cherish the relationships I have with my brides and couples and the time we have planning and executing their wedding! It's not always sunshine and rainbows around here...the work behind a vintage rental company is a true labor of love! It takes a lot of work to get those pretties from point A to point wedding day! Y'all, my heart is so full right now! This week was the most normalcy I've felt with my business in the last five months. Styling, working with vintage pretties and creating beautiful events with my uber talented friends is what fulfills my creative heart... and man, have I missed it!... To top it off, what a beautiful day for getting some amazing couples married! Congrats to Shelby & Jonathon at Wildcliff Weddings & Events and Zoe & Jake at The Millbottom! Oh, and when the lounge is set and ready for guests, you sit on the floor!

If you build it, they will come.... and take amazingly beautiful photos! We did a thing!! We got white flooring (thanks Dad!) to make the pretties in our photo studio space POP! I couldn't resist trying it out with my favorite sofa, paint clothes and all! We’re working on a fun, BOLD shoot in the upcoming weeks and I can’t wait to share the magic we’re about to create!

It's been a tough year for events, but the celebrations still go on! Loving how this group used our burgundy sofa with the "FRIENDS" set for their graduation block party! Congrats to all the 2020 grads!

Wanted to share a little story with my friends on here... Last week, I arrived at my Grammy's house for another day of packing, sorting and going through her things. After her passing in February, it's been a true labor of love. She loved pretties just as much as I do, but she never liked to get rid of them, just like me too, but I just created a business out of it! Ha! She knew the journey would be hard going through her things after she passed, based on volume alone. But..., she still joked with us about it as she headed out the door for another pickin' adventure, full on knowing she'd be adding even more to her collection! She was funny like that. When I got there last week, I was overwhelmed instantly and not sure where to begin. I went in, sat on her bed, not ready to dive into what was ahead of me. In my head, I thought, show me a sign, Grammy, show me that you're with me. I was expecting a light to flicker, a door to move, something more "paranormal" to happen. But it didn't. So, I got up and got started... About thirty minutes later I started going through one of her metal cabinets filled with things and I found this note, taped to the inside, addressed to my mom and uncle. This cabinet has been buried in the basement my entire life, but recently I have gone through it several times and today was the day I noticed it. I couldn't wait to open it, I just had to know what it was. Lo and behold, she knew exactly what we've been going through and she had a little message for us... "...Sorry for such a mess!!! Mom" We're guessing she wrote this after my grandfather's passing over 30 years ago. She collected to fill her lonely hours. I'm sure she had long forgotten about it, but knew one day we would find it. We hear you loud and clear, Grammy, and you already know, I don't mind your mess of pretties!

This past weekend I camped for the first time in over 20 years...and what I should really be saying is...I slept in a tent, with an air mattress, 20 ft from an air-conditioned home! Alright, where's my paint brush!! I'm ready to transform my warehouse!! But, first, I CAN'T decide whether to paint to the brick GREY or WHITE?! HELPPP! The last poll I did was pretty much 50/50... so here we go again! What do you think? The hubs is telling me that the white will be hard to keep clean...but I also don't mind when things are less than perfect, obv, I work with vintage, patinaed pretties! Hi friends! Courtney here! This is my quarantine check-in with you all! Let me know...how are you doing?... I'm not going to lie. Being home with my three kiddos is extremely rough, especially when my full-time job is now a homeschool teacher/stay-at-home mom, ha! All aboard the crazy train! But to top things, it's also been so hard to hear the heartbreak from all my couples that are having to postpone the weddings they've been working so hard on and were so, so ready for! But I'm refusing to let this experience be entirely wrapped up in negative feelings. It's going to be a long tunnel to get through, so we might as well add some light & positivity to this ride. The reality though, these beautiful events *will* happen. A different day, but they'll still happen and the celebration, with a gathering of friends and family, will be appreciated in ways we could've never even imagined even three weeks ago! And while it sucks so bad now, it'll be a party like no other when the day finally does come! And life, life will eventually find it's normal again, without this virus. One day we'll look back at all this and think, wow, that was a crazy ride! So for now, think positive thoughts, schedule Zoom dates with your friends, support small businesses in any way you can, plan a fun future celebration (whether it's a wedding or not) and do what you can to stay healthy!
