We love the trap bar for teaching deadlifts after we have shown our clients how to properly hinge. @katielynrose92 is shown here performing a great set in only her third week using this bar
New semi-private client, Brooklyn, working on some ssb box squats. The box here is really only being used as a depth gauge. Brooklyn isn’t used to squatting with with on her back (she did a lot of goblet squats previously) and so it can be scary to go that far down with weight on your back.
Something that we’ve been working on lately for @erik.j.smith has been his dips. He recently hit a set of 20 reps which was a fun little short term goal.
@caydogg_2001 taking his old max for an easy double!
@amanda.1989.baldwin has been pushing hard these past few weeks and she continues to get stronger in all of her lifts!
@imabqueenie sprained her wrist/hand and her doctor put her in a splint to immobilize it for the next two weeks, therefore she’s unable to pick things up. So we have been doing some unilateral training to do what we can while she is recovering. Her dedication to getting better is awesome! However, some might just avoid the opposite extremity altogether because they don’t want the other limb to get bigger than the one that isn’t being used. Obviously Laquita’s injury isn’t ...as extreme because her entire extremity isn’t completely immobile. But, studies have shown that 2 weeks of inactivity in a limb can lead to about a 33% decrease in strength. There have been studies done that show if you gain the healthy limb you can have some mirroring effects on the opposite limb. From what I’ve seen they aren’t 100% clear where, neurologically these changes take place. One study found a 7-11% increase in strength in the untrained limb. All of this to say if you have an injury to a limb, there are ways you can work around it by safely training the unaffected limb. See more
It wasn’t his prettiest rep, so if you ask him it didn’t count but @caydogg_2001 bench pressed 180 lbs last week. That was a 15 lb PR. Way to go cayydooog
@erik.j.smith taking the 105s for a ride on RDLs. We’ve put an emphasis on hamstrings over the past few months!

Have you ever thought about how fast you eat? Most of us don’t. We generally eat in front of the tv or while on our phones. If you’re like me, you rarely put the fork down in between bites. I generally eat my meals at a pace that grosses out my wife. This article is talking about consciously taking your time while eating. Some tips they suggest taking sips of water in between each bite, setting your fork down, or taking time to talk to whoever you are eating with as ways to... monitor how fast you eat. The point of doing this is to allow yourself to recognize when you are full. We’ve all been there when we have ate too fast and realize it only when it’s too late. Give this article a read and see some of the changes that they have seen occur from people who have chose to take their time eating their meals. https://www.precisionnutrition.com/30-day-eating-challenge
@gabbyresmith and her sister Riley have been coming in together for the last several weeks. Gabby is preparing for her AIT training that she is leaving for today! Good luck Gabby. Rylee has been gaining tons of confidence in herself by accomplishing things she didn’t know were physically possible. It’s been a blast having both of you in the gym together.
@jennylaney13 hitting some squats while her son, Jake watches and learns. It’s really cool to see one of our client’s children look up to their parent and their fitness journey. Awesome job leading by example Jenny! We love when you bring The boys with you
Our client @thenerdybarber417 hit a 10 lb deadlift PR of 175 lbs for a set of 6. Chris’ goal is to hit 200 lbs on trap bar deadlift. I think he’s got it, what do you all think?
