"A smart, integrated national freight network...would revitalize the heartland of the U.S. with a range of green maritime transportation hubs." Interesting article, exactly the type of work we are pursuing with Missouri River Terminal and new maritime tech. https://www.forbes.com//americas-forgotten-marine-highwa/
A beautiful KC day to celebrate the Centennial of the Negro Leagues and what would have been Mr. Buck O'Neil's 109th birthday. Port KC is happy to support #WrappedWithHeart Can't wait to catch the KC Streetcar around Kansas City.
Happy Halloween! Please note our main gravel lot at Berkley Riverfront will be closed tonight for a private event. See map.
We have initiated planning to commemorate a piece of Kansas City history this Veterans Day the undeniable impact of the Richards-Gebaur Air Force Base. As we continue to bring jobs and investment to 49 Crossing, we must remember its past. Port KC offices are closed in observance of Veterans Day. ... https://portkc.com/richards-gebaur-commemoration/
Congrats to @RockhillStrat for 2 years at Port KC, and Happy Boss's Day! Jon has brought his vision, leadership, and fun socks to the team! Here are a few project highlights from the last 2 years: https://portkc.com/congrats-jon/
We've heard you, & we need your help! Public comment is an easy but impactful way to support. What would a bike/ped bridge mean for you? Tag & send to your bike/ped friends. Bar K @kcrivertrails @KCRiverfest @KCCrewSports http://bit.ly/BerkleyBikePed (scroll down to comment)
This is incredible news for Kansas City and Berkley Riverfront! A hugely important step in connecting all of downtown and will allow us to build a dense, walkable neighborhood on the riverfront. And, a big boost to our work of building an accessible, mixed-use and mixed-income development and park. This is a huge team effort and there is more to do! KC Streetcar, the City of KCMO, our Congressional delegation and more.
#EatWell and #DoGood. Our team is enjoying @ThelmasKitchenKC box lunches today. Every meal supports Reconciliation Services and helps provide social and mental health services to KC neighbors in need.
Imagine following these wind turbines down the road instead. All the modes of transportation must work together for a successful network. One advantage of barges - tugs can safely carry huge tows down the river. This is the "Big Eddie."
Spotted! The General Ashburn with 3 coal slag barges seen passing Napoleon, MO, heading for KC.
Working coal slag! Good to be busy at the port terminal today.
Amethyst Place "cares for some of the most vulnerable women and children in Kansas City." Thank you for the insightful presentation and discussion today! COVID-19 presents new challenges for volunteerism and support, and we are on it. Uncover KC
Unfortunately, Friends of the River KC had to halt planning and cancel KCRiverFest due to the pandemic. We thank them for their hard work and know when they can come back, the event will be better than ever. In the meantime, Visit KC has a list of alternate ways to celebrate. Fingers crossed to see you at the riverfront next year! https://www.visitkc.com//everything-you-need-know-about-fo
We heard many of you saw this vessel off Berkley Riverfront earlier in the summer. The flooding last year, in addition to what you could see above the river, changed the land below. This year, the Army Corps came in to repair the levee and deepen the channel back to a 9-foot depth. The Army Corps maintains the river, and they guarantee a minimum channel depth of 9 feet. This allows us to give our customers increased security that we'll be able to ship their goods via the river. https://www.marshallnews.com/story/2818241.html
Our websites portkc.com and berkleyriverfront.com are currently down. We are working to fix the issue as quickly as possible. Please feel to reach out via phone, email or social in the meantime. 816-559-3750, [email protected]
