High water bill? One of the most common culprits of a high water bill is a running toilet. When a toilet runs, it’s usually due to the flapper or fill level. An easy test is to put a couple drops of food coloring in the tank. If the dye makes it to the bowl, then that confirms you have an issue. The most common remedy is to change the flapper, but also check the fill level and make sure it’s not filling over the fill tube. Performing these tasks can put money back in your pocketbook and save a visit from a plumber!
