We had a quick response time today for a structure fire on County Road 635. The road was shut down for a time. One occupant was transported via helicopter to th...e hospital with injuries. There were no injuries to Firefighters. We worked this fire from 7:15 to 3:30 then spent two and a half more hours cleaning our equipment and gear. Thank you to Pontiac and Gainesville FD who responded in mutual aid. Thank you to the Ozark County Sheriff, Missouri State Fire Marshall and Ozark County Ambulance District for your support as well. We had several civilians provide water, bakery pastries and manpower that was also very much appreciated.

A reminder that vinyl siding does not stand up well to heat. If you have vinyl siding on your house, don’t bbq next to it. Always remember to have one meter (3 feet) of clearance from any flammable or combustible surface.

Well, I'm still stiff and sore, but I think I have finally recuperated from our crazy busy memorial day breakfast at the PPPVFD. I want to send out all of my deep appreciation to everyone who came and helped out in pulling off an awesome breakfast for our community! And also a great big thank you to all of you who came and ate with us! We always have a great time and really enjoy doing this! It's an unbelievable amount of work, but very worth it. Stay safe on the back roads that aren’t plowed. A lot of people still can’t get out, unless they have a 4x4 vehicle. I just got stuck on 609. I made it out but it took a bit of work. Thank you from your fire department. Chief Khristie

8:30 PM: The winter weather impacts aren’t gone yet. Though the winter weather advisory may be ending soon, these high winds cause blowing snow and low visibili...ty even after it’s stopped snowing. Do not travel in these conditions! If you MUST travel, give snowplows plenty of room don’t try to pass! traveler.modot.org/map/

Friday evening information The Ozark County Health Department has a total of 487*** COVID-19 cases to date of these Active: 44... Recovered cases: 420 Deaths: 9 Hospitalized: 4 ***We are aware that at times the total numbers that we report seem off. Please understand that during our contact tracing and case investigations we occasionally find that a case lives in another county and they are then transferred to that jurisdiction. We are working diligently to keep an accurate count for our county. *** If you have been tested for COVID-19, please help us and your close contacts from spreading COVID by doing the following: 1. Quarantine UNTIL you receive your test result. Quarantining keeps you from unknowingly spreading the virus to others and stops the chain. 2. If you are positive, isolate yourself from the rest of your household members as soon as possible for 10 days. Isolation from household members can prevent your family members from getting sick. 3. Let your close contacts know that you tested positive and ask them to quarantine for 10 days from their last exposure to you. Monitor for signs/symptoms: Cough, wheezing, fever, fatigue, shortness of breath, headache, sore throat, nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, rash, runny nose. Stay home if you're sick. Stay healthy, Rhonda

SNOW CHANCES TONIGHT INTO THURSDAY: Still looks like a changeover to a wet snowfall tonight across parts of Southern Missouri and Northwest Arkansas. The HRRR ...is really keying in on how I think the event will play out and snow totals will see. Higher elevation areas in Southern Missouri and Northwest Arkansas will see the changeover first with the highest totals from this event. Expecting under an inch in Springfield, higher amounts to the east near Hwy. 60 and also in the higher elevation areas in Northwest Arkansas. #kolr10wx #mowx #arwx #sgfwx See more
