Did someone say Fishing Derby? Yes! Next Saturday, October 17th at the Tailgate at the Lake a Fishing Derby will be held from 8am-2pm (registration starts at ...7am). Cash prizes sponsored generously by Bricker's TLC Auto. Prizes include: Largest Fish by weight for 16 & under and 17 & up. Best 5 Fish total weight for 16 & under and 17 & up. So, I took a look at my reservation book this morning and lo and behold I have spots open! Several spots! Three of my best spots! I am seeing spots before my eyes! I have #s 8, Far North and Far South as well as 1,2, and 3! This just might be the last really really good weekend for camping this year, (with the exception of next weekend, The Tailgate at the Lake!). If you are not camping this weekend you must be really, really busy, or you are dead! And that's OK becaus...e I don't allow dead people to camp at YOUR City Lake! Dead people don't pay their camping fees, they are difficult to deal with, and they stink! Nope, there will be no dead people camping at the C.L.! I gar-en-tee it! (If you die while camping, you will be asked to leave, after payment of fees, of course!). Enough about dead people! And now, more about, "Tailgate at the Lake" . 1. I am hearing rumors about a, "Trump" parade. A. If you are an organizer, please contact me ASAP. 816 946 0310. B. All surfing will be suspended during this parade. C. No lowering of boats onto the water by helocopter. The dangers are obvious. D. In all fairness, Biden supporters are welcome to participate. E. All water craft will be limited to 2000 hp. This a no wake lake, so wake up to the no wake lake! F. Size of water craft will be limited to 100 ft. This obviously eliminates all aircraft carriers, destroyers, and sea going vessels. (Submarines are allowed, afterall, we won't know they are there anyway). However, as stated before, there wil be NO fishing with torpedoes, and depth charges are discouraged. G. Hovercraft will be allowed to participate. However, hovering above another boat is not allowed, as is landing on picnic tables. H. All beer coolers shall be inspected and inventoried by The Lake Caretaker! I. Not having a good time will be strickly forbidden. This rule will be enforced by a special group of enforcers who will make you have a good time wether you like it or not! On a serious note, (really?), ALL water craft should be off the lake prior to the begining of the fireworks display. (The organizers are worried that some of the boats may shoot back!) The weather forcast is looking good for the 17th. We are warming the lake to facilitate wading. Swimming is not allowed, so if you see a fish swimming, please use fishing gear and remove said fish from the premises as soon as possible! The following over used words may be used to describe the event: Awesome Epic "Cool Dude!" That's all I got. See you there!

We are excited for our upcoming event "Tailgate at the Lake" happening October 17th. We spaced the events throughout the day to give attendees the opportunity ...to enjoy the outdoors and their community while maintaining adequate distance. We will also have sanitizer available. Feel free to bring yard games (corn hole, ladder ball, etc.) and don't forget your lawn chairs! There will be a couple food trucks and a beer tent for sustenance. We will have vendors selling all kinds of wares from noon - 8pm. Great time to start your Christmas shopping! Also there will be a fishing derby, family fishing, horseshoe tournaments, disc golf tournament, DJ, fun mountain bike ride on the single track, and a short UTV ride starting at the Fairgrounds and ending at the Lake, followed by Fireworks at dusk. Have you, perchance, seen the weather report for this upcoming weekend? You haven't have you? I know you haven't because you haven't made camping reservations yet. High in the low 80's, lows in the high 50's. PERFECT CAMPING WEATHER!.........................Well, you better get with it cause I expect a flood of requests any minute now. And speaking of camping...............................What about the next weekend? What about, "Tailgate at The Lake"? Well, are you c...amping or not? The weather is going to be good! Everything else will be excellent! Ok, you don't want to camp. Fine. But, please do not miss this event. Lots of activities, hopefully posted here soon. The day will be topped off with a tremendous fire works display, SHOT OFF FROM GRAY"S POINT ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE LAKE! It will be, I promise, something to behold!
