Platte Landing Dog Park

The road out to the dog park is now open but the park is definitely closed. The trees seem to have survived and there is good grass coverage but the ramps apparently floated away and there is extensive fence damage.

From Parkville Newsletter: Platte Landing Park Dog Park Update The City received a Platte County Outreach Grant to purchase two shade structures for the dog parks in Platte Landing Park. With the flooding this year, the dog parks have been closed since March. The shade structures will be installed once the dog park is fully restored. Park staff will be re-seeding and reconstructing the dog parks and plan to open them in the spring.

I saw current photos of the dog park area and it's really bad. Nothing there but a thick layer of dirt, even the boat ramp is covered over. The road is not visible at all. Gonna be a very long time before it can reopen, I suspect.

I contacted Parkville Parks Dept. about a guesstimate on when the dog park will reopen. All they could tell me was that it will be weeks but no idea when exactly.
