Partners in Primary Care strongly encourages our patients to receive the COVID-19 vaccine when available. We believe the vaccines are safe, effective, and that the benefits of vaccination outweigh any identified risks or side effects. We are working closely with county and state officials to secure vaccines and are preparing several of our centers to serve as central vaccination sites for patients. We have also applied to enroll our area clinics as vaccination administration ...sites for patients. Due to limited vaccine supplies, we are unsure of when the vaccine will become available to us, but we will keep you informed. If you can get the vaccine from another location authorized by the Kansas Department of Health, please do so. We ask that you keep track of your two vaccine doses and communicate this update to your Partners in Primary Care provider at your next visit. Visit the Kansas Department of Health website at https://www.kansasvaccine.gov/ or call 866-534-3463 to learn when vaccines will be available and how to receive them.

The approval of two vaccines can lead to a turning point in the pandemic, but a full roll out will take some time. While we wait, we need to be patient and continue to practice the steps we know help keep us safe. A healthy blood pressure is part of a healthy heart. When blood pressure is high, it decreases the flow of oxygen and blood to the heart, leading to heart disease. The good news is that exercise, dietary changes, medications, monitoring and regular visits with your primary care physician can all help you keep your blood pressure within a healthy range. We have made the decision to put the safety, health and well-being of our community’s seniors first. Partners in Primary Care physicians continue to be in direct communication with our Local Health Department, and stand ready to support their work. In support of minimizing community spread of COVID-19, Partners In Primary Care Grandview will be canceling all Community Center events until the end of March. Partners In Primary Care is currently accepting new patients and will ...continue to care for seniors in the Kansas City area Monday-Friday from 8:30 am-5:00 pm. As a reminder to our current patients, if you feel sick with fever, cough, or difficulty breathing, please give us a call. We will give you instructions on how to get care without exposing other people to your illness. While sick, avoid contact with people, don’t go out and delay any travel to reduce the possibility of spreading illness to others. See more

A multivitamin can be a wise choice, especially as you age. That’s because both a decrease in appetite and a lessened ability to absorb nutrients occur as we get older, making a multivitamin a good idea. #HealthTipTuesday #StayHealthyWithPartners
