Peregrine Society

Before Christmas, a friend of the Society began making these precious pillowcases. We plan to send them out to families of kids with cancer this spring. If any seamstresses out there are looking for a small sewing project, I can hook you up with some fabric and pattern to make the sweet dream pillowcases.

We thought it might be nice to send a little valentine surprise out with this week's deliveries to patients.

These sweet "Warm Hug Wraps" were made by Laura Marino. You may remember Laura from posts during the holidays as she made over 50 of the Christmas face masks that were included in the holiday packages sent to patients. The wraps are super soft fleece and Laura even included pockets on the inside for glasses or tissues. Several patients will be receiving the shawls with their deliveries this week just in time for the frigid temps headed our way. Thank you Laura for making such thoughtful gifts for our cancer patients

Today is World Cancer Day which was established in 2000 at the World Cancer Summit in Paris. 2021 is the ultimate year of the 3 year ‘I Am and I Will’ campaign (2019-2021). The campaign focus has been on how our actions have an impact on everyone around us, within our neighborhoods, communities and cities. This year is a reminder of the enduring power of cooperation and collective action. In choosing to come together, great things can be achieved: a healthier, brighter world without cancer. Together, all of our actions matter. Since 1949, Peregrine has been focused on making the lives of area cancer patients better through our service programs. We are happy to continue to support area cancer patients in this way and we thank all of you who support us and our mission.
