Ladies!!! Sunday is our Chrismon making day. It's going to be so much fun! Come to Bible Study, church, and then stay for an afternoon of crafting to help glorify our Lord during Advent and Christmas. Don't forget to bring a sack lunch. If you have an exacto knife you might bring it. The styrofoam, ribbons, glitter and other bling will be provided. ... See you Sunday!

A Brief Devotion for Thursday by Pastor Ed Lehmann. But You, LORD, how long? Turn, LORD; deliver my soul. Save me because of Your mercy. For in death no one remembers You. In the grave who praises you? (Psalm 6:3b-5). At night, if you awake from a bad dream, how do you feel? ... One night a young boy awoke with a start because of a bad dream. Thinking he was alone, he whispered into the dark, Dad, are you there? From the other side of the hallway, a voice replied, Yes, son, I am here. For a moment the boy lay silent. Still anxious he whispered again, Is your face towards me? Yes, my face is turned toward your bed. With that assurance, the boy calmly closed his eyes and drifted back to sleep. The psalmist feels like that little boy. But it is more than a dream through which he suffers. Troubles have afflicted him. Perhaps he felt like God had turned His attention elsewhere because of his sin. So he cried, LORD, how long will it be? Turn! Save me! It reminds me of the closing words to the Benediction given at the end of worship: the Lord lift up His countenance upon you (turn His face toward you) and give you peace. If God turns towards you, He views you favorably. Why would He view any sinner favorably? Because He sent His Son to redeem us from sin. Christ turned God’s anger aside so that He now looks favorably upon those He redeemed. You have His word on it (Rm.8:1) Believe, rejoice, and worship Him for such great mercy. Paul writes, Now is the favorable time! Now is the day of salvation (2Cor.6:2). Although my soul, through faith in Christ, will be with Him in eternity when I pass this life in death, until the resurrection that takes place on Judgment Day, my body lying in the grave has no awareness. My lips cannot praise Him; my hands cannot serve Him. But, rejoicing in His mercy for me in Christ in the present, I can work while it is day before the night comes when no one can work (Jn.9:4). Lord, in Your mercy turn, grant me a long life, if it is Your will, so I can serve You.
