Our chapter is in search of a blow-up movie screen to borrow this fall. With our National FFA Convention and leadership training being held virtually we would like to encourage more kids to participate by hosting them in a drive-in like atmosphere or to be able to set it up on a field. Thanks!
Started our virtual field trip video lessons this morning! Thanks to Lowery Acres for showing us your cut flowers, sunflowers, pumpkins, and vegetables operation. Check out their Facebook page and look for them at our local farmers markets!
Might be good opportunity for past graduates.
With looking at adding more virtual lessons this year we are looking for some help. We would like to make some short videos of agriculture in our community. We think this would help motivate kids to learn better virtual. Mrs Clark is going out this week to get some row crop videos at her farm but needing much more. We teach large and small animal, forestry, greenhouse, landscape, floriculture, welding, woodworking, etc. We would love to get video of someone working cattle, working with bees, hogs, chickens, larger gardens, aquaculture, mum production, etc. Thanks for your help!
Mr. Lackey and Mrs. Clark are trying to work on getting our FFA chapter back on track! --We will be switching up our officer election process to be more virtual. We would like to have our officer slate ready to go when we come back to school. We have sent out a remind and had some replies back but if you are interested in running please let us know ASAP. --We would like to start scheduling SAE visits. If you have a summer job, project, or activity please let us know so we can come and visit. We have been in contact with some students but wasn't able to get everyone's info before the wellness break. We truly miss our FFA family. Stay safe and well!
Sad to not be able to attend national convention but glad to be able to share it with more students virtually.

Local FFA member receives state's highest FFA honor Tanner Robinson of Poplar Bluff FFA has received the State FFA Degree, the highest degree members can receive at state level. The Poplar Bluff member is one of a record 988 degree recipients receiving the honor. The list of recipients was released the week of April 20. Prior to 2020, the number of recipients was limited to 3 percent of the Missouri FFA Association members. Now earning the degree is based on minimum specific... qualifications. "Missouri FFA members have always considered earning the State FFA Degree an honor, said Missouri FFA Association Advisor Leon Busdieker. Instead of limiting the number of individuals eligible to earn the degree, the Missouri FFA Association has established a minimum set of qualifications, increasing the number of recipients. This gives students a more defined path to the recognition." Awarding of the degree is based on a member's supervised agricultural experience program in agribusiness or production agriculture, and leadership ability as demonstrated through involvement in FFA, school and community activities. The State FFA Degree award charms are sponsored by MFA Inc., Columbia. The Missouri FFA has 25,945 members representing 348 chapters. The national organization has more than 700,000 members representing 8,612 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

Students did an amazing job this year with our greenhouse. With not knowing how this school year will end we decided to spread spring/summer joy around PB. Thanks to our local garden club and Poplar Bluff Parks and Recreation for helping with this project and taking our beautiful plants for everyone to enjoy. We look forward to seeing all the student grown flowers in the planting beds around parks, downtown areas, and the train depot. We hope to spread joy and put smiles on faces around PB during this hard time. Planting a seed is to believe in tomorrow.
