Worship - Sunday, November 8, 2020

Parkway United Church of Christ 10.11.2020

Join us for a Facebook Live Worship experience in about an hour at 10am or participate later. Our focus scriptures will be Psalm 78:1-7 and the parable Jesus tells about the ten bridesmaids some foolish, some wise from Matthew 25:1-13. Who gets to decide who is wise and who is foolish? What do we think about the 'other'? How do we prepare ourselves for uncertainty and waiting? How do we keep our light burning? You may want to read the scriptures and these poems in prep...aration for worship - A Portable Paradise - https://nationalpoetryday.co.uk/poem/a-portable-paradise/ One Tree - https://poems.com/poem/one-tree/ You might want to have a candle with you too.

Reformation Sunday Worship - October 25, 2020

Parkway United Church of Christ 11.10.2020

Join us for a Facebook Live worship experience today at 10am or participate later. It’s Reformation Sunday On October 31, 1517, Martin Luther nailed his critique of the church - 95 Theses - to the door of the castle church in Wittenberg, Germany. His ideas spread exponentially farther and faster than he could have expected due to Johannes Gutenberg’s recently-invented printing press, and helped catalyze the Protestant Reformation. Many churches commemorate this date as an annual reminder that the church is both reformed and always reforming. We hope you can be with us as we think about our ancestors in the faith as reformers. We will also talk about what we might need to focus on today as we continue this tradition of reforming the church and the culture.

Nina was an Assistant Public Defender in the City of St. Louis, trying jury trials in the defense of the indigent. She has many stories to tell and opinions about our criminal justice system. https://youtu.be/PYLjY2QqBVk
