My 120 sqft workshop/storage shed/wood shed/home away from home.
Announcing Papa Bear's high performance, super-eco tiny trailer house--AKA the Bearmobile. This 8.5' W x 19.5' L building is framed and sheathed with 100% reclaimed materials. Advanced framing techniques maximized insulation while minimizing framing members. It is highly insulated (R-24 floor, R-21 walls, R-50 roof). Weather-sealed OSB sheathing and building gaskets provide a complete air barrier. The XPS foam wrap (1" on walls, 4" on roof) creates a complete thermal bre...ak and protects the sheathing against condensation. Standing seam metal roofing on both the roof and walls, along with painted steel trim means the exterior is water tight and maintenance free. The 24"W x 48"H casement windows are Andersen 400 series wood windows (low-e coated, argon-filled, double-paned glazing with unfinished pine interior and PVC clad exterior). The insulated fiberglass entry door is 36"W and ready for the paint of your choice. The reclaimed trailer frame was reinforced, sandblasted, primed and painted prior to construction. The construction process was documented every step of the way with over 300 photos. This beautiful building was designed to be highly versatile. The interior is 134 square feet of possibilities. The cathedral ceiling is 8'H at the end walls and 10'H at the peak. The walls and ceiling have been finished with OSB, sanded to 80 grit. They are ready to be oiled and trimmed out--or will act as the perfect substrate for the covering of your choice. Would you like built-in furniture? A full kitchen? Bathroom? Shower? Sleeping loft(s)? Where would you like them? This tiny trailer house will make the perfect full time house, vacation cabin, office, studio, guest suite--you name it. I would be happy to customize this building to your design specifications, or you can DIY from here. Asking price as-is: $16,000. Designer/builder Tony Barrett--better known as Papa Bear, has been designing and building furniture and tiny houses at Dancing Rabbit Eco-village for nearly 10 years. This is his first trailer-mounted tiny house. You can contact him via email: [email protected].
