A big thank you to Viet Craft Village for hosting the One Card-One Meal campaign, brought in more donation to help the Molave victims in Binh Son, Quang Ngai. Viet Craft Village's, together with the generous donation of Ms. Thu Kokoczka and Thuy Nguyen, have helped us send another VND 5,000,000 monetary gifts to 6 additional households with home damage from Molave typhoon this weekend. 46 households in Binh Hai, Binh Son, Quang Ngai have received monetary gifts from Paint A Dream over the weekend! These are the lowest-income households whose homes have been torn off by the Molave typhoon last week. Small but mighty! Thats exactly @Lavie Nguyen in the eyes of her friends, family, and just literally anyone around her. Being a sophomore in the Physical Therapy program at Saint Louis University, St. Louis, MO, Lavie is also a Residential Assistant, a star athlete, and a rocking volunteer of many nonprofit projects in the community. After leading an audiobook project for Paint A Dream this spring, Lavie used her lockdown time to learn the art of stained glass with the help o...f her host family, and created some very cool and fun stained glass ornaments that she sold to raise funds for Paint A Dream this month. Just this week, as the central area of Vietnam was battered by storms and floods, then again slammed by the destructive typhoon Molave, Lavie decided to donate all of the proceeds from her stained glass ornaments to help the victims. With Lavie's $600 donation, and with remaining funds from the previous #PaintAHeart campaign, the PAD team will send $1000 immediately within this weekend to those victims who suffered the most from the typhoon along the coast of Binh Son, Quang Ngai. Hundreds of roofs have been torn off, thousands of walls have been topped over just 2 days the storm hit this coastal ward and other areas of Vietnam's central region. Lavie's, together with Paint A Dream donation, will be used to give each affected, low-income household a monetary gift of approximate $50, so they can use it to repair severely impacted portions of their houses. We expect to have the gifts delivered to 20 households by the end of Sunday, Nov 1st.
