Hope grows here. An evening walk around our main campus is filled with symbols of hope like these blooms. They remind us of the goal of the people who are working tirelessly behind these walls, which is to provide our patients with brighter days ahead. Located outside the Shaw Medical Building, these flowers are a cheerful sight for our Cancer Treatment Center and Therapies patients and coworkers. #hopegrowshere #FocusedOnYourHealth

Meet Lawren Dupler, RN in our Outpatient Surgery (OPS)/Gastrointestinal (GI) Department. It’s the enthusiasm and kindness from people like Lawren who put the compassion in our mission of providing compassionate care to all we serve. As an OPS/GI nurse, Lawren’s work day is filled with all kinds of responsibilities. You won’t find her in the same spot for long, but that is one of the parts of her job she loves most. From working in pre-operative to post-operative care and in b...etween procedures, Lawren will tell you she loves the diversity and the meaningful connections built in her job. There are a lot of different aspects of nursing in this department, Lawren said. Being versatile is something I believe helps a nurse render the best quality care to patients. I love my job and the family I work with because it’s definitely an extended family. Thank you for putting the passion into compassionate care, Lawren! #OZHHealthcareHeroes #FocusedOnYourHealth

You might remember Cameron, a #HiddenHero in our Communications Department, and his record-breaking shifts spent answering calls about our very first mass vaccination clinic. We are proud of his statewide recognition as a #MoHospital hero! Please continue to do your part and take precautions against COVID-19 for all of our hospital heroes as we continue to fight and slow the spread.

These shoes were made for caring, and that’s exactly what they’ll do. Yesterday, we celebrated National Random Acts of Kindness Day, and even though this story happened earlier in the week, we thought it was fitting to share! When Nurse Katie Helton-Wilson found herself with wet shoes late last night due to coming in contact with a frozen and busted pipe, another Ozarks Healthcare coworker came to the rescue so that she would not have to work her shift with cold feet! R.D.... Reid, our Supervisor of Security, Safety, and Public Safety, delivered a new pair of shoes to Katie at around 10 p.m. The new pair of shoes happened to come from Jana, another one of our nurses who also happens to be R.D.’s wife. These types of stories happen every day at Ozarks Healthcare because our coworkers are a family. Thanks to R.D. and Jana for literally going the extra mile to make sure Katie could safely and comfortably walk on to care for our patients throughout the night! #CompassionateCare #NationalRandomActsOfKindnessDay #heroesworkhere See more
