If you were wondering whether travel for custody exchanges is considered an "essential activity" under the Springfield "shelter in place" guidelines, here is your answer:

As many of you may know, our local courthouses are only hearing select (more urgent) cases at present. As such, our attorneys' calendars have cleared for the next two weeks. If you are needing a consult, we have available spots this week and next - we were previously booking more than two weeks out. Give us a call at 417-886-3330 if you would like to get a consult set quickly, and stay safe (and healthy) out there!

Ozarks Family Law had a great year in 2019, and we grew (and changed) a great deal: Our Marshfield office officially opened, and it's staffed Monday through Friday. It's been great for our Webster County clients to have easier access to us. We worked hard and settled a lot of cases. We fought hard and tried a lot of cases. Most importantly, we helped a lot of people through a lot of problems, and made it all a little easier for them. We're proud to say that we got great ...results for a lot of people in hard situations. Attorney Dylan Driskell came on board, and has done fantastic work for his clients! Two new paralegals, Sheila Cutbirth and Kelly Markely came on board. Both are great assets, and both have many years of experience in family law practices, Both Dylan Driskell and Justin Evans received recognition from Super Lawyers, a peer-nominated award, for their work in family law. Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. This selection process includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations. We look forward to more growth and more great results, in 2020! Happy New Year!

Missouri is moving toward a rebuttable presumption that equal parenting time is in the best interests of the children of separated parents. In other words, it's equal time unless you can present a substantial amount of evidence that proves that's not going to work. Whatever your thoughts on this legislation, Missouri and many other states around the country are heading this direction. This is truly a sea change in how the courts treat custody, and it will be interesting to see how it evolves in the coming years.

Dads can win: Quit googling for an attorney and call Justin Evans 5.0 stars:... Posted by Brandon November 18, 2018 TL:DR - Hire this guy, he works miracles. Father with physical custody in Webster County, MO. My problems started when I was served a set restraining orders for [nonsense] reasons. Day of that hearing, Justin plead my case and the judge dismissed both orders and threw them out. Then came the long and arduous task of fighting for custody of my boy. Mother was being un-cooperative and she was denying visitation throughout the entire process. During the discovery process, I felt like Justin asked the questions that needed to be answered, and he help prep me so that I could answer in a way that wasn't detrimental to myself. Come the day of the hearing, Justin did a fantastic job with controlling the flow of the examinations and cross-examinations. After months of waiting once the hearing was over, I was informed that I had received primary physical custody and the parenting plan Justin had prepared was entered in its entirety. Which is fantastic news for any parent going into a custody battle, but I won physical custody in Webster County, MO; a freaking miracle of an outcome.

Genuinely cares for the best interests of the child: 5.0 stars I had gone two months with no legal representation. My case seemed hopeless. Then on a recommendation, I reached out to Justin. He told me he wouldn't take my case unless my cause was in the best interests of the child. I explained to him the details of my case, and he agreed to represent me. Justin was always on top of my child's custody case.... In the end, I walked out with joint custody after being terrified that I would lose my kid. Thank you Justin. Sorry it took me this long to give you a review. Posted by anonymous December 10, 2018

Here's my story, and the reason I'm supporting Cynthia Black for Judge in Webster County. I was the victim of a crime in Webster County many years ago, and it took me several months to recover physically. Cynthia was the Prosecuting Attorney at the time, and she aggressively pursued my case. She was instrumental in making sure that I was able to recover 100%, and if not for her I'd still have serious visible damage to my face. She didn't know me personally, but she treate...d my case as if it was her number one priority (she had hundreds of other cases). She made me feel like my problem was as important to her as it was to me. Now I've worked with her as an attorney, and I know Cynthia's work ethic, and her passion for her clients. She has an immense capacity for empathy for her clients, and care for the people she works for. She has a work ethic that frequently keeps her at her office until late into the night. She approaches her cases with the benefit of a great deal of experience, and more importantly - common sense. Webster County needs her work ethic, they need her good judgment, and they need her capacity for care for the people that will be resolving their problems in her courtroom. If you have any questions about why it's important to vote in this election, or why I am endorsing Cynthia Black, send me a message or give me a call.
