We’ve got local honey! Honey Creek Bee Farms is located right here in Odessa, MO. You can read about their farm’s name and history on the back of their bottle (see picture). CHEESE OF THE WEEK Employee Favorite We thought it would be fun to occasionally feature one of our employee’s favorite cheeses. This week is Rachel’s pick. Her go to favorite snacking cheese is the Hemme Brothers Jalapeño Habanero Cheese Curds. For a light snack or sometimes a light meal, she will take our Breton Garden Vegetable crackers and smear some Hemme Brothers Quark (not pictured) on them and top it with a cheese curd. The Jalapeño Habanero curds do have quite a kic...k, so if you don’t like spicy we have a plethora of other cheese curd choices for you!! CHEESE OF THE WEEK Muenster, or munster, is a semi-soft cheese from the United States. It is thought to be an imitation of the Alsatian washed-rind Munster cheese, introduced by German immigrants. CHEESE OF THE WEEK Havarti cheese is a Wisconsin made cheese that has an incredibly creamy texture with a rich buttery aroma and taste. Havarti is an interior-ripened cheese that is rindless, smooth, and slightly bright-surfaced with a cream to yellow color depending on the type. It has very small and irregular openings called eyes distributed throughout. Havarti can be somewhat sharp in the stronger varieties, much like Swiss cheese. The taste is buttery, from somewhat to ...very sweet, and slightly acidic. It is typically aged about three months, though when the cheese is older, it becomes more salty and tastes like hazelnut. When left at room temperature, the cheese tends to soften quickly Some of the best ways to use Havarti is in pressed sandwiches, creamy soups and sauces.
