Outta Control Horse Training by Brooke Schuessler

I’m truly horrible at updating! I just have so much going on that when I do sit down I don’t always think to give details about everything we’ve done So everyone meet Phoenix. We are a week and a half in to our training and her confidence took a knock after I got her front feet trimmed 6 days after I got her. Thank goodness it was done tho because she needed it!! She is no longer lame in her front end so I’m super happy with that. We have been working on confidence building, trust, desensitization, ears being touched, and softening to the halter more. She’s doing great and I have to remind myself to take it slow so I don’t bust the trust that she has with me! She has gained weight and is looking slick and shiny. Her new mom and dad are going to love her very much!!

Well of course I had something typed up and I guess it ‘disappeared’ it said something like... I was just tickled with everyone today! I helped Randy navigate a new saddle on BamBam, my boarder is super happy with her new horse, and I ponied a youngster on a trail ride for the first time (and forgot to mention it’s my 4th time ponying a horse ever!). I was so proud of Pickles and Baby today! It made my heart feel so full seeing everyone doing so great today.

I have been super quiet on here and need to get back at it! Whoopsie This is Annabelle. She is a 16 year old quarter horse and her mom and dad reached out to me to ask if I can fix some of her behavioral issues under saddle. We set up an evaluation appointment (one of my favorite things I offer!!) for me to see what exactly is going on at home with the owners.
