*** IRS Update ... Per the News Media, and other sources, the IRS is EXTREMELY behind and backlogged. There are aprox 100,000 people still waiting on their 2019 refunds ... YES 2019, let alone the 2020 tax year, with COVID changes in mid season, Stimulus changes mid season, etc. It is going to take time for the IRS to process your 2020 Tax Return, if you have not already received it, and they are NOT giving us any timeline on when that will happen. We assure you that our ...clients returns HAVE been sent to the IRS, and we have confirmation of that, but that is all of the information we have available. *** Regarding the unemployment changes that were signed into effect mid March, neither the IRS or the State of Missouri are ready to process any amendments regarding this issue. YES, this will be a great benefit to anyone who received unemployment in 2020, and we have a list of people whos taxes we prepared from January till when the change was made who received unemployment, and will be contacting you when amendments regarding this issue can take place. Thank you for your business, your trust, and your patience in this COVID continued mess ... See more

Latest "official" Update: Many of you have questions regarding the recent stimulus package that was signed last week. There are many components that will affect clients in various ways. WE DO NOT HAVE ANY DOCUMENTED GUIDANCE FROM IRS AT THIS POINT. However, DO NOT CALL US ABOUT YOUR STIMULUS PAYMENT ... irs.gov has a link on their page concerning stimulus payments ... click on "get my payment" and enter your personal verification to receive the most up to date information... available about your stimulus payments. Regarding Unemployment Benefits received for the 2020 tax year, they have changed the IRS tax code to reflect the first $10,200 to not be taxable on federal, however, clarification is still needed from the states for the software providers and IRS to process amended returns. Anyone that was here with us from 1-15-21 thru 3-11-21, that received unemployment, WILL be getting a call from us, to have your 2020 tax return amended to reflect this unemployment change. IT WILL BENIFIT YOU ... but keep in mind, more clarification is needed as of the time of this posting, but we will be in touch as soon as we are informed what the states are doing. We have direct confirmation from the IRS, NOT to amend anything as of yet. Our office alone will have around 600 tax returns to amend due to this change, and we thank you for your patience, your understanding, and your business, and as always we will continue to provide the most accurate service available. 2020 ??? What a year ... aaaand let's just leave it at that. As the world environment has changed, so have we. We have done MANY things to better our 6 generation tax business, and keep our clients safe. We have added 1,600 sq ft of ADDITIONAL office space, totaling about 3,000 sq ft now. Laurie, Michelle, and Michael have their own personal offices, and additional preparer stations have been added as well (will post pics soon). This will ensure the "family" atmosphere ...continues, and ensure better privacy and social distancing when getting your taxes done. Additional phone lines have been added to help make sure your call and appointment are better handled. We are just wrapping up the biggest expansion and streamline improvements in the company's history (since 1942). COVID safety is important to all of us, so sanitizing waiting areas and offices will be done after every client, social distancing will be implemented, Plexi-glass shields will be at all desks, and per CDC guidelines masks are encouraged, HOWEVER due to HIPAA privacy laws, we will not ask why you don't have a mask on. Were all in this together and your safety is important. We WILL continue in person appointments like we have the last 78 years... OR if you are more comfortable, you can drop your stuff off, mail it to us, or email it to us as well. We usually do 500-600 returns each season by "drop off", so we are used to doing that, and have processes in place to ensure a smooth service. Thank you for your continued business, support, and referrals, and we will be ready for this coming tax season, with the quality our almost 4000 clients expect, and the health safety COVID presents. Merry Christmas to you all, and we look forward to seeing you soon.
