Safety Protocol Update from Father Dave and David Wright To Parishioners: This message is being sent to you in keeping with our commitment to move forward safely as Covid guidelines across the country are being modified. We are seeing fewer people hospitalized in Branson due to Covid and vaccination opportunities have been readily available in our area for the past two months. Therefore, we will begin to implement modifications in our Church.... Effective this weekend (May 15-16, 2021), we will remove ropes in alternating sections. There will be sections within the Church that afford both physical distancing and those which allow for closer seating. You may ask our ushers where those sections are. As we begin to move forward, we still want to respect and acknowledge those who have concerns. We hope to find a balance of meeting people where they are and accommodating their needs. We will continue to provide masks for those choosing to wear them, but that choice is yours. Again, we want to respect the individual wishes of those attending. Communion protocol will remain in place. All ministers will continue to sanitize and wear masks while distributing communion. Meetings at the Church will still respect the physical distancing protocol and sanitize after each gathering. We will still NOT serve food or drink at gatherings within the confines of our Parish Campus. We genuinely appreciate your patience as we move safely forward. Recognizing that we have visitors from many areas, our primary concern is helping to keep everyone coming through our doors safe. We also want to respect and acknowledge that many people are in different and varying places regarding their comfort level as the pandemic lessens in the U.S. Thank you for your understanding and may God continue to bless Our Lady of the Lake, our parishioners, and our visitors. The feast of the Presentation of Jesus in the temple Now there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. This man was righteous and devout, awaiting the consolation of Israel, and the holy Spirit was upon him. It had been revealed to him by the holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Messiah of the Lord. He came in the Spirit into the temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus to perform the custom of the law in regard to him, he took... him into his arms and blessed God, saying: Now, Master, you may let your servant go in peace, according to your word, for my eyes have seen your salvation, which you prepared in sight of all the peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and glory for your people Israel. Feast of the Baptism of the Lord - Mk 1:7-11 This is what John the Baptist proclaimed: One mightier than I is coming after me. I am not worthy to stoop and loosen the thongs of his sandals.... I have baptized you with water; he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit. It happened in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized in the Jordan by John. On coming up out of the water he saw the heavens being torn open and the Spirit, like a dove, descending upon him. And a voice came from the heavens, You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased. On December 13th, 3:00-5:00pm there will be an Advent Reconciliation Service in the Church. As we prepare our hearts and minds for the birth of Christ, we look to the seven Sacraments He instituted. Specifically, the Sacrament of Reconciliation. With four priests spread throughout the Church, we pray that you would come and be filled with peace from the God of love.
