Off to the CHAMPIONSHIP GAME next weekend. Way to go KNIGHTS!! You played great today. BE LOUD...BE PROUD!
Kindergarten enjoyed the "pumpkin patch" today at school. What a beautiful afternoon to pick a pumpkin.
We were missing several first graders today, but we had a good time doing our Pumpkin Prayer and making a jack-o'-lantern.
Today at mass, we learned about St. Dominic Savio who died at the young age of 14 and about St. John Bosco who had been his teacher and taught him about God. We were also told about a modern day young man named Carlos Acutis, who died in 2006 at the age of 15. All these men wore Spiritual Armour, a gift we receive from the Holy Spirit. When we pray and help others, our armour is strong. We should all pray together in our families so our armour can protect us. Let's all wear our Spiritual Armour and serve God through our actions and prayer.
At today's mass, Fr. Ed shared how prayer brings us closer to God thru the power of the Holy Spirit. We also want to wish Mr. Garcia a very Happy Birthday this Sunday.
Mrs. Diaz shared a beautiful mass with us yesterday. We honored St. Therese of Lisieux. St. Therese always wanted to be a martyr and die for her faith, but she found that you can be a martyr while living so she dedicated herself to praying for others and became a Carmelite nun living in seclusion. She is also known at St. Therese " the Little Flower". Fr. Ed also explained that when he mixes the water and wine together during the consecration, it is a symbol of God sharing his humanity with us through Jesus and we share in His divinity.
Welcome to Monday. Arrival temps being taken so we can begin another safe, healthy week at school. Have a great week everyone.
Friday greetings from OLH. Have a great weekend!
We celebrated mass today with Mrs. Bentley doing the Readings and petitions. Fr. Ed asked the students "if Jesus were standing here, how would you show your love for him?" Some of the responses were: "Read the Bible to Him"; "tell Him He is nice"; "tell him I do nice things for others". Father told us to always do nice things for others and to remember the quote "Give thanks to the Lord for He is good, His mercy endures forever"
A little song, Miss Lucy, by some of the first graders during music class.
Today was our first mass. In keeping everyone socially distanced, we are able to fit every grade in with kindergarten and first alternating weeks. It's great to be back together again!
Off to a great school year. Day 2....first full day.
130 Catholic Schools have already closed due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. This only takes a couple of minutes to complete but could mean a lot to Bright Futures Schools who support low and medium income families.
