Hey friends, remember me? When Covid forced everyone to move their business online, things got a little crazy around here. It's been a wild ride! Anyway, I've made some upgrades to my desk situation. From a tree in the yard to the mill to the planer, my husband has been working on this gorgeous oak desktop for some time. Bet you didn't want another post about the coronavirus. Well I'm here to disappoint. Off-Center Design is open! Lucky for me (and you, if you're a client), my office is in my home, and my subcontractors' offices are in their homes. This means we can continue working as normal on projects. However, like many Americans right now, this also means I'm a stay-at-home mom to my 2 year old, and a Pre-K teacher to my 4 year old. (Praise the Lord it's only simple addition, ABC's, and ...coloring so far!) So while I continue to figure out a new rhythm (which now includes impromptu tea parties), I will have a slower response time than usual to emails and requests but rest assured that all projects are still moving forward. Okay fine, I admit it. This website was SUPER FUN to work on! In a world full of spreadsheets, databases, website code, and APIs, it was a blast to jump into the enchanting world of Miss J Magic. In December 2013, I stood in a dear friend’s kitchen, snapped my fingers and said, I am a business! This was the unofficially official start of a dream far bigger than I ever imagined the dream of Off-Center Design. Since then, I’ve hired several subcontractors, I’ve easily made hundreds of new friendships, and I've had two little girls (my someday-apprentices). I’ve done happy dances, I’ve cried, I’ve been pushed and challenged to the max, and I have loved nearly every s...econd of it. I am overwhelmingly grateful for each and every friendship, connection, and client, and I couldn’t imagine doing life any other way. Thank you to all of you. You have made it possible to live my dream, and to provide for these two cuties! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
