From the beginning of the pandemic we have followed CDC guidelines, as well as local mandates and we will continue to do so. Masks are no longer required for indoor dining if you are vaccinated and we ask that unvaccinated guests either continue to wear masks inside the pub or instead, dine on our patio or utilize Chow Now for carryout. Our team will be meeting this next week to establish new protocols moving forward and we will let you know what that looks like as soon as w...e sort the many, many details that are involved in a transition such as this. We appreciate your patience, compassion and in the words of Jack Parker, Anyone who behaves in a civilized manner is welcome in my establishment.

It’s not debatable. You will not be allowed entry for indoor dining at O’Connell’s without a mask. City ordinance requires masks be worn when standing and you are required to wear the mask over mouth and nose when not seated. We prefer and encourage you to be fully vaccinated! Even if you are, that mask is still required. Arguing with us is a waste of time. Thank you to all who are being respectful and responsible. We appreciate you!

The patio has been shortened for the winter to provide three more parking spots out front. But we do have four tables set up outside with a few propane heaters. We can set up a few more tables if needed. So outdoor dining is still an option. We won’t have an assigned server but you can order food as to go, order drinks at the bar and take it all outside to eat. Sort of a deli compromise for outdoor dining if you will. Edit: Gerald Ortiz, our host for the day, is running tables outside a bit so you can get full service. Mr. Ortiz is running! Cheers!

It’s a most excellent weekend! The weather is sunny and cold but we’ve got plenty of space heaters so the patio is open for eating your to-go orders on. (We won't have a server, but you are welcome to eat and drink there after ordering from the bar.) We’ll offer up our fried fish special AND wings today! Also, we will be open on Sundays through the holidays, starting tomorrow! Come weekend with us!

Friends, we know that traditionally this is one of the biggest party nights of the year and we want to remind folks that we just can’t all crowd around the bar this year like we normally do. We are following very strict protocols on cleaning, capacity and spacing to keep our staff and our community safe. So please be advised that there are only a few seats at the bar. Patrons cannot order at the bar unless they are seated there and remember that unless you are seated with your party, masks are required. Let’s take care of each other this year so that next year we can party 10x harder. We are so thankful for you!

We are super thankful for our amazing Kitchen Manager Denis Dunbar! I started with O'Connell's in September of 1996. I was clocked in for five minutes and already slicing six pork loins for our Thursday special. The next day I was beer battering 140 pounds of cod for our fish specials. I was thrown right into the fire and I loved it. I was, and I am still, thrilled to work for an iconic St. Louis restaurant. I take pride in our pub and have built relationships with the customers that frequent our establishment that will last a lifetime. It's an amazing place to work, just ask all the employees that have worked here for decades! It's about the people and the family atmosphere that Jack Parker established in 1962.

Because these are Jack’s last items and for the cause of the restaurant we aren’t discounting off of sticker but Jack was always very fair with his pricing so there are great deals to be had. Dave Donnell has been with OC’s for nearly 4 years now! Originally from Springfield, MO, after serving in the Air Force, he moved to St. Louis in 2004. Actually, his first time eating here at O’C’s was with the UHaul moving truck parked in our lot! Lenard was my bartender and told me the history of O’C’s and I immediately fell in love with the place. It was my after work stop for food, beverages and great company and I’ve been friends with the staff and guests for many year...s, who I now call family. When offered the job, it just felt like a natural fit, like home, like Cheers. Cheers to you Dave!
