Our Missions Focus for the month of June is the Syrian Refugee Relief Fund. The war in Syria has led to the worst humanitarian crisis of our time. More than half the population of Syria are in need of urgent assistance. Four out of five Syrians are living in dire poverty and unemployment has increased to well over 50 percent. Syrians in displacement camps face overcrowding, inadequate access to basic services, high food prices and an increase in competition for limited job ...opportunities. Many refugees live in urban areas outside of the camps with little to no savings, dwelling in makeshift shelters without access to running water and heat. The needs of Syrian refugees are pervasive and urgent. Missions Sunday is June 13th, however, you can give any time during the entire month of June. If you feel led to give towards helping Syrian Refugees you may use online giving or place your offering in one of the receptacle boxes in the back of the sanctuary. We received a total of $480 for last month's Missions Focus - the Liberia Benevolence Fund. This does not seem like much, but every little bit helps those in need in other countries! Just a reminder of our Missions Focus for May! When you look into the face of poverty it is difficult to just pray for someone without also ministering to their physical needs. These funds are used for urgent needs such as: medical attention, food, water, clothes, and to bless people in difficult situations. One ministry of this fund is the Bucket of Blessing, which gifts needed items to people in need. A Bible is included along with presenting the gospel. *Items will be purchased in Liberia. A Bucket of Blessing costs $25.
