When Dr. Lohr retired earlier this year, he dedicated most of his time to helping his son Greg open his oral surgery office here in Lee's Summit. After countless hours of hard work and planning, Drs. Lohr and Hollabaugh opened their office and began seeing patients today! We are so excited to see the product of all of the time spent over the past year and are excited to work with them. Congratulations!

After the past six weeks spending needed time with family, tending to dental emergencies, and making improvements to our practice and processes, we are so happy to report that we will be back in the office for regular hours beginning this coming Monday, May 4! Please see the following note regarding measures we have taken to protect you as well as ourselves as we move forward into resuming routine care. Our office always has and will continue to follow infection control reco...mmendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations. We have done countless hours of research in the past several weeks to ensure that we are doing the very best we possibly can, even in such a rapidly evolving climate, to protect the safety of both our patients and staff. With all of this in mind, you may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. For example: Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office. We will also be taking the temperature of each patient at the beginning of every appointment. We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed. You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect. Our chairs have also been spaced to effectively practice social distancing. Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment. We would also ask that only the patient being treated attend the appointment and refrain from bringing others with them into the office at this time. We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at 816-524-7050. We want to sincerely thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends during the coming weeks.

In all of the madness surrounding COVID-19, the celebration of Dr. Lohr's thirty-seven year dental career got a little lost. Dr. Lohr's last scheduled day in the office was to be today, March 31. As you know, the last few days of his career in private practice looked a little different than we all expected, but we wanted to make sure to recognize this momentous occasion. I personally am so grateful for Dr. Lohr's mentorship and guidance through the first nine months of my ...journey as a business owner. He has been an invaluable part of our office both as a practitioner and as an advisor to me. But, most importantly, he has been an invaluable part of his patients' lives for his entire career. Meeting all of our fabulous patients over the last several months has shown me that Dr. Lohr thinks of his patients as family, and vice versa, and I am so thankful to be able to be a part of it all! Dr. Lohr is going to take his love of dentistry and apply it to his next journey--helping his son Greg finish building and opening his oral surgery office in Lee's Summit! We are all so excited for Greg to join our dental community and know he is going to be a fabulous surgeon and colleague. And, don't worry, Cathy will still be the smiling face who greets you when you come to see us! Congratulations on an amazing career in dentistry, Dr. Lohr! See more

We hope you're all doing well during this period of social distancing. Our office is still here for your emergency needs, but we are continuing to reschedule elective treatment for the time being to prevent the spread of COVID-19. In these uncertain times, we aren't sure how long this policy will continue; however, we are available by phone if you have any questions or concerns! If you aren't sure whether you need to be seen, here is a handout from the ADA that may answer some of your questions. If you have an upcoming regularly scheduled appointment with us, we will be reaching out to you soon with more information. Stay safe and healthy! We can't wait to see you all again as soon as possible. https://www.mouthhealthy.org//dental-care-concer/covid-19

Due to a recent ADA/MDA recommendation to postpone elective dental care amidst the COVID-19 outbreak, we will be limiting our practice to emergencies only at this time. As your trusted health care professionals, we feel that it is our responsibility to take all necessary steps to keep our patients, staff, and community safe from the spread of this virus. We are so thankful for the understanding and support of all of our patients during this time. As this is a rapidly evolv...ing situation, we will continue to assess the safety of our patients and staff and resume offering all services again as soon as possible. If you have an appointment scheduled with us in the coming weeks, we will be reaching out as your appointment nears to give you more information. As dental professionals, it is our hope to take the burden off of emergency rooms during this time of extreme difficulty for our hospitals. If you experience a dental emergency within the next few weeks, please call our office and direct your questions to our on-call phone number, which will be listed on our voicemail greeting. As always, we are so thankful for our wonderful patients and wish you all health and safety during these next few weeks!

Happy Friday everyone! We just wanted to let you all know our thoughts on COVID-19. As always, the health and safety of our patients are our top priority. That’s why we are asking that if you have a fever, cough, or any flu-like symptoms or have recently traveled to an area where you may have been exposed to the virus, please let us know and we can reschedule your appointment for a later date. As always, we will clean the office thoroughly between each patient with the recommended disinfectants per the CDC’s recommendations. We always strive for each patient to have a wonderful experience in our office and want everyone to feel safe. We also want to do our part in preventing the spread of this virus. Please feel free to call the office with any questions or concerns!
