It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Athletics and Activities administrative assistant, Ms. Dottie Drukker passed away peacefully at her home yesterday after fighting cancer for the last several months. Dottie served at Northtown for over 30 years and was the backbone of the activities and athletics office. Dottie was the heart of the Norclay building when she worked over there. She was a great cook, had an infectious laugh, and took care of everyone around her, wor...king tireless behind the scenes to keep each program running smoothly. Her dedication to the students and staff at Northtown was unmatched. She touched countless lives in our school and made us all better for knowing her. We lost a legend this weekend and will miss her greatly. Reminder, tomorrow and Thursday school is in session and there is NO SCHOOL on Friday. Wednesday is an A day and Thursday is a B day. L-Z will be in person and A-K will log into Canvas for virtual learning.

Each year, the 100 chapters with the largest number of new degrees in the National Forensic League Honor Society receive the Top 100 Schools designation. These programs demonstrate outstanding commitment to the values of integrity, humility, respect, leadership, and service that are central to our Code of Honor.’ We are also a Club 300 school. Club awards are awarded to schools who meet a certain threshold of strength points. Our Club Award winners show an incredible commitment to this activity, their students, and their success, said J. Scott Wunn, Executive Director of the National Speech & Debate Association. These programs demonstrate outstanding commitment to teaching students essential life skillsincluding communication, research, listening, writing, and organization. Strength points are calculated based on student and coach achievements in competition and service. For each degree a student receives, they also earn one strength point. This year the NKC Hornet Marching Band competed in three different marching festivals all in one day. They submitted a video performance to be judged and rated... by adjudicators from around the area and the nation. Congratulations on: 1. NKC Virtual Marching Band Festival- Superior Rating 2. University of Central Missouri Festival of Champions- 9th Place Class AAA (this was a nation wide festival with 80+ bands registered in four classes) 3. Missouri Days Marching Festival - 1st Place
