After 23 years in this industry and 5 years owning Northern Lights Salon, I have made the difficult decision to close. The 26th of June will be my last day. I will be working by appointment until then. You have all meant the world to me and I will miss each and every one of you. Thank you all for your continued support over the years and for your understanding in this decision.

I am currently at home recovering from a car crash. I am also waiting on several shipments of protective equipment. I have a tentative reopen date of May 13th. There will be some changes. After speaking with other salon owners around the country we have developed the following safety protocol. 1) Services will be provided by appointment only. 2) if you are not feeling well or have been exposed to someone who is sick, please reschedule. 3) you are strongly encouraged to wear a... mask while visiting. 4) only guests receiving services are permitted in the building. Special allowances will be made for caregivers but request must be made at time of booking. 5) please do not arrive early. The time between guests is for disinfecting the salon. 6) your temperature will be taken when you first enter. 7) to help protect the safety of our guests, I will be in protective equipment that will be changed and/or disinfected between guests. 8) at this time the salon will not be offering blow out services. 9) I am sorry to inform you but there will be price changes across the board. If you have any questions about this or any other safety protocol in place please contact me. I miss you all so much and will continue to hold your health and safety in the highest regard. We are all in this together.

Dogs all over the country excited about the shut down. Then there are hairdresser's dogs! Both got a bath, refused the blow dry. Maybe tomorrow we will try a mani/pedi.

Sanitize, disinfect, sterilize: Sanitation will kill some germs. Products are usually a quick application. Not terribly effective against colds, flu, or other viruses *Disinfection kills most germs and viruses. Usually requires saturation time of 2-10 minutes. Please read your labels for proper mixing ratio and contact time. Very effective against viruses including Covid-19*... Sterilization kills all germs, bacteria, viruses etc. Very intense cleaning usually reserved for medical level cleaning.
