Thunder & lightning... we’ve all experienced it. See the lightning flash then wait for the sonic blast of the thunder. Jesus compared his second coming to a lightning burst, as the lightning comes from the east and flashes even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be. One day, maybe soon, Christ will burst onto the scene, not to take sides but to take over. He brings with him judgement for the proud & haughty and redemption for the humble & trusting. As I look around it seems like I've seen this before. De'ja'vu? Was it a scene from a movie? No, I got it! The Bible told us these things would happen. This Sunday, we will take a look at that Wednesday of Passion week and Jesus' discourse recorded in Luke Chapter 21 verses 1-24. You're invited to come and listen to Jay's exposition of Luke 21 in hopes that you too will come to the conclusion that what we are seeing truly is "A Sign of the Times."

One of the greatest dangers is to be deceived.especially regarding eternity. The voices of our culture cry out with their ‘truths’ about God, often based on their feelings. It has always been that way .it started in the Garden. Jesus interacts with a very religious group about the question of resurrection after death as we continue our series in Luke. If there is a resurrection after death it should change how we live now. Do you ever wonder if your actions or lack there of challenge Jesus' authority in your life? Do you recognize God's Image in you? Are you willing to give yourself (all of you) back to God?

Have you ever been in a situation where others wanted you to fail? Or what if your idea or plan threatened the status or advancement of another person? If your answer is yes, then you may have some insight as to how Jesus may have felt in this passage. A couple of days after His triumphant entry He would come face to face with those by the truth of His nature and existence. Practical suggestions to hear from God.

Suppose you see royalty approaching and a crowd gathering to receive him/her. What would you do when he/she arrives? Applause and cheering seem fitting. Perhaps you would bow (but not really because we are Americans and we bow to no one). Whatever it is, it’d be something appropriate, as long as you recognized the person as worthy of esteem. Of course, those that disagree would make themselves known too through mocking and jeers.
