These heads got the works. 1mm Oversized Ferrea valves. Performance valve job cut on the Rottler SG80A with a bowl cut to flow more air. We resurfaced them on the T&S 3000XLE to get a surface finish in the 20s RA. Finished it with a Comp Cams spring kit to handle some high RPM fun. They would have really looked good had we fully CNC ported them but we had to cancel that for $$ reasons.

427 SOHC Cammer vs Boss 429. Ford Porn! I’ve waited 25 years to get a set of Cammer heads in the shop so a photo shoot with our Boss 429 heads was inevitable. Write up on the Cammer build to come.

This Aston V12 was run out of oil somehow. It damaged the cams, cam journals, guides, valves and nearly every other moving part. This car is on the east coast and the heads and cams were sent to CA to get the cams ground and recoated and the cam journals fixed. The place said they could only fix the cams, so they went from CA to me because for some reason I am the only one that can fix damaged cam bores. After a lot of measuring with a Sunnen dial bore gauge I decided to take... about .003" off the entire top of the head. I then line bored the cam journals out to the EXACT size that put me between .002"-.0025" of cam clearance. In doing so all of the damage from starving of oil was cut out and as you can see in the pic they look like new. We installed all 48 guides and reamed/honed them to size. The old valves and guides had galled. New valves rockers and lifters x 48, that is a lot of parts. We cut the seats on the Serdi 4.5 and cut the surface on the T&S 3000xle. We cut the stem heights correct and put the heads together and torqued the cams down then carefully packed them back into the crate they arrived in and back to the East Coast. See more

These 243 LS heads got the top of the line HP valve job with a 5 angle intake cut along with a radius unshrouding cut in the chamber then the exhaust gets a full radius cut. The valve job really comes in well with the .020 oversized intake and exhaust 6000 Series Ferrea valves. I have seen to many problems with stock LS valves to trust them in a high revving track car with big cam and springs. We then sent these heads out to be CNC ported which pairs very well with the valve job and oversized valves. The heads then get resurfaced with a finish near 10-20RA for use with MLS gaskets. Then we check spring pressure, coil bind and set up height and assemble.

We have got the big diesels covered. Some heads ready to exchange (C-15, ISX, 60 Det). We can repair cracks or even damage from a dropped valve. If you see your head in these pictures, please come pick it up. I am running out of room.

Somehow only took two pics of this job. The SR20 is I believe a Japan only motor like the 6 cylinder RBs. We have worked on a surprising amount of them Customer had Brian Crower cams and all the valve train. We ultrasonic cleaned the head, installed 16 bronze guides and honed to size, cut the seats with performance valve job, resurfaced, and set the cams and rockers up for the correct clearance.

We did three of these for a customer. Sent them off to be CNC ported with a program designed by Paul Burke and Paul also did the coating of the chambers and the back side of the valves. I then did a radius/multi-angle valve job installed and honed to size all new guide and resurfaced the heads. With Paul's magic worked on these heads a good cam they will make serious power and if that is not good enough put some boost to it. The bottom ends of these motors are built like a tank.

All top of the line Ferrea parts for this build. I did a nice performance valve job on the Rottler SG80A along with a unshrouding cut around all the valve seats in the chambers to help the air get in and out. Went through the time consuming process of getting rid of the stock lifter buckets with shims on top for the solid one piece buckets out of newer 2AZ heads. They are lighter and will never eject a shim at high RPM. Figuring out what thickness to order each bucket takes time. This head is ready to see some BOOST!

New dual axis crane system is making life much easier here. As soon as we found out they could hang it from our existing rafters instead of having poles in the shop we pulled the trigger. Another good find at the PRI show.
