Media and Public Information Release On 05/23/2021, at around 2:50 a.m., several Boone County deputies were on the scene of the Lakeview Mall, located at 5695 E... Clark Lane, dealing with a parking complaint. The parking lot at this location was full and vehicles were parked in such a manner that vehicles were unable to leave or maneuver through the parking lot. Deputies observed several people exiting The Vault, a business located in the strip mall at this location, and began receiving information a shooting had occurred within the business. Deputies responded inside The Vault and located a victim who had been shot inside the business. The victim, who was identified as 24-year-old Junous O. Kelly of Columbia, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The investigation into the homicide of Mr. Kelly is ongoing and no one has yet to be arrested or charged in relation to his death. Anyone with information regarding this shooting and homicide should contact the Boone County Sheriff’s Office through Boone County Joint Communications by calling 573-442-6131 or 311. All source intelligence update regarding the 2020 election: With the results of the 2020 Presidential election still in doubt, many cities are on the edge. Wel...l organized local protests have garnered sporadic support with an underlying anti-establishment and anti-law enforcement message from Denver to Washington, DC, to New York City. In addition to locally organized protests, hundreds of protests have been planned in cities nationwide as part of a ‘Protect the Results’ campaign. The campaign advertises having over 520 rallies prepared. These protests have been scheduled to start if Trump declares victory before all the votes are counted or otherwise attempts to undermine the results.. Potential protesters are signing up for text alerts to be notified of local protests in their area when/where they should mobilize, but many have preliminarily scheduled protests to start at 15:00 LT. Over 560,400 individuals are believed to have signed up for these events nationwide. In the urban centers and political centers of battleground states (Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Nevada in particular) and in the "hot spots" of Washington, DC, Portland, Seattle, New York City, Los Angeles and Chicago, residents and local businesses should be acutely aware of the locations and times of these protests. Out of due diligence, you should consider avoiding these areas and/or close your businesses at least two hours prior to protest times. Good advice is to avoid all protest and protest areas after dark. You should ensure that you have planned your transportation routes so that you do not encounter the protests. They have had a propensity to turn violent quickly when unsuspecting motorists arrive on the scene. Your businesses and homes should be checked to ensure working alarms and smoke detectors, make fire extinguishers available and make sure that all exit doors are unobstructed. You should expect emergency response to be delayed or non-existent at your time of need. Be prepared to handle these emergencies yourself or with the help of trusted friends and colleagues.
