Friends, I'm happy to share that I've been selected by Super Lawyers as a "Rising Star" in Missouri and Kansas for the third year in a row. This rating is only given to 2.5% or less of attorneys in each state that are either 40 years old or younger, or who have been in practice for 10 years or less. My practice looks a little different these days, but I continue to enjoy helping my clients achieve recovery and see their day in court. This week I finalized a settlement for my client injured in a car accident. The other driver only had a $25,000 insurance policy, but I was able to secure a $100,000 settlement for my client due to the insurer's bad faith refusal to pay. I love making my clients happy --A great start to my weekend!

Many of the attorneys in my office are still working from home, but we continue to work tirelessly to obtain compensation for our clients who have been harmed by others. This week we have a whole team of people in trial on a case that we have been working up for years. Due to Covid-19 concerns, this judge-tried case is occurring via Zoom.

I spent most of the day today downtown at the Western District of Missouri mediating an employment case regarding the failure to pay overtime. I was able to successfully settle the case for my clients, which makes a great start to my work week!!

I recently obtained a $325,000 settlement for my clients in a highly technical property damage case. I had a hearing in Liberty this afternoon, and got to catch the end of closing arguments in a fascinating sexual assault case against a masseuse. I don’t often get to see criminal trials and I love watching other litigators make compelling arguments to juries!
