Horrible to hear that the King of Coal, Chris Cline, his daughter & her friends died in a helicopter crash on the 4th. I totally respect this man; known for his treating his employee family well, his fairness and his generosity. Condolences to his colleagues & friends from Foresight Energy and The Cline Group. He was a miner who had the foresight to bet that scrubbing technology to would make Illinois Coal viable as Clean Coal, contributing to America's energy independence. This should be an interesting read for any hockey fan and/or technology fan. They now have instant access to detailed data to help them make decisions, changing the game and giving an advantage to teams who make the best use of this instant data. Remember Moneyball? The MLB teams who embraced data analytics enjoyed decades of adv...antage. The difference in the NHL, is that every team now has the capability in their hands and participated. Starting to see more "Hot Economy" restructurings these past few months. Industry leaders are shifting resources to make themselves even stronger while the economy is on a "role". I'm expecting to see many more restructurings this year before we get into another U.S. Presidential election cycle, which traditionally brings cautionary decisions to the boardrooms. While it's rarely desirable to be forced change jobs on someone else's schedule, you really couldn't pick a better t...ime to grab a severance package than now, especially for any SAP I.T. professionals affected by this move. There are thousands of good SAP-related jobs open today in the U.S. alone, a quick check this morning has me estimating at least 8,000 - 10,000 open SAP I.T. positions in the U.S right now. Great time to make a career move. Word of caution though, it is actually harder for top talent to find the best open jobs during these record-breaking great economic times. Yes, it seems everyone who had been cautious for the past decade is now looking to improve their compensation, responsibilities and future growth prospects. It's been extremely tough for hiring companies to retain great talent, especially if they are not competitive with compensation. Now that they must compete against so many great opportunities, it's even tougher for employers to find top talent to fill those open key positions.
