URGENT NOTICE: The City of New Madrid and Municipal Light & Power ARE NOT using an outside agency to contact our residents to pay utility bills. A resident here in town just alerted our office of a call from someone claiming to be working with us, threatening to turn utilities off if payment is not immediately made. THIS IS A SCAM. Please share so that others will see this. Alert our office or the New Madrid Police Department of any information (caller ID, any info they may relate).
Let’s go NMCC! Game time!

REMINDER: If you need to report an issue to us, the best way is to call city hall (748-2866). By doing so, a work order can be immediately created and attended to when time allows. Texting or tagging (on social media) a city employee/alderman is less effective and not a preferred method.
City transit is now open.
Transit is temporarily closed due to COVID-19. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Yesterday, unfortunately, marked high marks locally during the COVID-19 pandemic. The county reached its highest one-day total of positive cases as well as the highest overall number of current positive cases. We strongly urge everyone to wear a mask and socially distance during this time. Hospitals in Sikeston and Cape are overwhelmed with cases, and local residents are having to go much further away for treatment/hospitalizations.
We celebrate and give thanks to those who have served
City Hall will be closed November 11th in honor of Veteran's Day.
