In my post yesterday, I mentioned Precision Analytical's Dutch Test as a means to assess your adrenal function and your reproductive hormones. I recently tested myself to better understand the testing process and was completely shocked by my results. I would have bet my last dollar I had HIGH cortisol. I collected all my samples, knowing what my test results would say. Needless to say I was shocked that I have chronically LOW cortisol. This was likely caused by high stress i...n the last few years, as well as by the steroid inhaler I use occasionally due to a reaction to dairy (I can’t give up cheese completely!). Now that I have the correct information on the status of my hormones, I am treating my low cortisol and I feel so much better! I am also beginning to lose some extra weight. The results will obviously vary for each person, but the test was so insightful to me that I am encouraging all of my patients to get the test so we can begin treating their issues correctly.
