From our awesome and amazing friend Alexai : "When COVID set-in last spring, we formed ACCORD Small Group, an on-line community on Zoom's platform, to address the unique needs of transition age students (14+) from youth ministry with developmental, social/emotional, intellectual, physical, and sensory challenges who were already greatly struggling from having lost supports due to social distancing imposed by the pandemic and their being most immunocompromised. As ACCORD'...s leaders, we found vision for this group from Philippians 1:2, which says "complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love and being in full ACCORD and of one mind." ACCORD Small Group offers students and their parents the hope of Christ via bite-sized discipleship in a way that is easily understood and makes them feel welcomed, safe, and happy. Our students learn about the Bible and memorize scripture using an adapted curriculum created by Ability Ministry which they in turn generalize for themselves outside of small group time, bringing them comfort inside the loneliness they are experiencing day in and out. One parent shared that ACCORD is a joyful platform for youth to express themselves and share their lives. We couldn't agree more." #BeTheChurch #JesusForEveryone See more
